The Village (1)

By the time i made my way to the huge wooden gates of the village, night had fallen. Torches were being lit and the lighting around the village gave it a cozy setting. The village itself was neither too big nor too small, it housed a population of around 500 citizens including both humans and demi-humans.

Walking down the uneven cement paved streets, i had gathered numerous stares, some held pure curiosity while others shot disapproving glances. While i was unfazed by all these, i realized that my unkempt appearance and dust worn clothes did nothing to alleviate the attention i had on myself.

As i looked around trying to find a cloth shop to change out of my devilish appearance, i heard a rough scratchy voice behind me,

“Hello there!”

I turned around and looked down. I found a fat man with a huge pot belly, around 40 years of age with a face that looked like it was frozen in an eternal sneer, trying his hardest to smile at me.

Boy, it wasn’t a pleasant sight.

“How are you this fine evening! You don’t look like you’re from around here, anyways, welcome to Zenthox Village!”

I kept my eyes cold, waiting for what he had to say.

After receiving no reaction or reply from me, he gave himself a slight nod and continued,

“Well now, looks like you are in need of a guide, whatcha think?”

Tilting my head, i gave him an affirmation to go on.

“Follow me, let me be of assistance.”

He then turned around and led me through a series of alleyways for around two minutes, and we ended up reaching a dead end. He turned around, and the cheery facade he had on his face disappeared.

“Now boy, what do you think about joining my Deadnight gang? You can be our errand boy and throw our trash for us, whatcha think?” He then plastered on an all too smug face and crossed his fat arms.

“And if you even think about escaping,” with a snap of his plump fingers, five dark figures came out from behind the walls. I wasn’t surprise in the slightest, from the moment i set foot in the alleyways, i sensed those five darting around, following us.

Inwardly i was amused. ‘This human is truly unlucky to meet me.’

Seeing as how i was not responding, he grew a little impatient.

“Last chance!” He shouted, saliva spitting everywhere.

I still remained silent, but the edges of my lips arched up. Seeing that, he became agitated and motioned his 5 shadows forward.

“Crush this filth.”

Focusing on the five that revealed themselves in the dim alley light, i counted one human and four demi-humans. They unsheathed their weapons and came rushing towards at me, the four demi-humans were spreading out trying to box me in, while the human stayed behind with what looked like a short wooden stick in his hands.

The one with larger build had a mace and he was the first to reach me. Swinging his arms, he brought down the mace onto my head, i raised my hand and as if with no effort at all, stopped its downward momentum and looked him in the eyes. He clearly did not expect i had the strength nor the ability to stop it this easily.

“Wha-” That was all he managed to squeak out from his mouth before i grabbed his other arm, spun around, and threw him to the one approaching me from behind. I threw him so hard that i yanked his arm out from his shoulder socket, leaving only his body flying through the air and crashing into the one behind, sending them both smashing into the wall unconscious.

While i was throwing the brute, two appeared from both sides of me and managed to land their swords on my thighs trying to sever my legs, but to their dismay, their blades shattered. Using the arm that i detached, i smacked both of them in their faces splattering blood and blinding them for a second. But a second is all i need to bind them using earth manipulation and creating a spike entering from their anus and through their mouths, impaling them.

I turned slightly and brought my gaze to the human mage. He had his arms out and wand pointing at me, but he stood transfixed, unable to comprehend the horror unfolding before his very eyes. I gave a slight stomp with my foot and impaled the mage, his face etched forever in horror. Lastly i didn’t forget to give the same treatment to the two unconscious ones.

And of course, who would forget our lovely perpetrator.

I looked around and found him pushing himself into the darkest alley corner, a foul odor emanating from him.

“Looks like you got me all to yourself now.”

I grinned.
