“You can drop us off at that place, Ash.” Maru instructed his magical beast after they had flown through trillions of miles in thirty minutes of flight.
The sect he wanted to join was just a few kilometers ahead and with the calculations set by Madame Ais, someone inside the sect was going to notice them if they got nearer than this point.
Especially with how obvious they were in riding his gigantic pet in the sky. They had to be inconspicuous from now on, Maru thought.
“Thank you, Ash.” Maru said when they had landed.
“BOOM!” and the magical beast flew once more as it launched into the horizon with unbelievable speed.
“ROAR!” the two boys that were left behind could hear the echoing sounds from the magical pet above them.
They stayed that way until both could neither see nor hear the good travel companion that had delivered them swiftly to where they were right now.
“Wouldn’t it be better to have your pet near us, Maru?” Tiny Slim asked.
Although he didn’t like to get close to the dragon, its presence always gave a good measure of security unto his soul.
Especially with how often Maru got into trouble himself. Tiny Slim mused.
“We don’t want to alert the people and the sect that we’re going to be entering, Tiny Slim. Don’t tell me you’re going to miss Ash.
Don’t worry, I’ll let you and him have some alone time in the future.” Maru teased the fat boy.
“Hahaha! No thanks, Maru. Me and Ash are friends but it would be wise of me to keep my distance from him.”
It’s not like your pet and I, can play kid games or something. The size difference alone is mind boggling. Tiny Slim added in his thoughts.
“Okay then. Let’s take a walk, Tiny Slim. To our new sect!” Maru replied lively and marched forward towards the path he planned for himself beforehand.
“Yes! TO OUR NEW SECT!” Tiny Slim echoed the mantra and he felt renewed to look at another brighter tomorrow.
The tenacity of these two youths showed quite clearly right now for despite the tragedy they had experienced yesterday; they were currently gazing at what the future holds for them both.
“What are you two midgets doing here?” a soldier barred the way towards the entrance.
Behind him was a grand black structure that brought a promise of power along the words, “Infernal Blood Sect”.
“We are here to join the sect.” Maru answered at the tall man. They had trekked for almost an hour and strangely found no people in the vicinity of the sect.
He put the weird thoughts at the back of his mind and decided to look at the magnificent proud walls before him.
Maru anticipated what he would see within the shadowed pillars that comprised the scenery.
This place was exactly the opposite of the Vestal Virgin Sect in that regard.
Where his last sect advertised the embracing warmth of nature and life, the Infernal Blood Sect was wrought only with negativity.
Dark, forbidding, and bleak. This were the words that come to mind on Maru’s head. He shook his head and awaited the reply of the soldier.
No matter what he will find inside, it mattered not. This place will train him and he shall do exactly just that and more. Maru owed it to the people who died because of his naivety.
