Chapter 1782 Dangerous

Without avoiding his measuring gazes, she gave the supply station’s Squad Leader with an embarrassed expression after he noticed a tender smile. She lowered her head and continued to take inventory of the medical supplies.

The Squad Leader had been made blushing by the female soldier’s flower-like smile, female soldiers were already a rare sight, and now there was suddenly a female soldier who was more pretty than the prettiest Arts soldier they had known… he couldn’t bring himself to meet her eyes.

She’s already on the vehicle, and he didn’t manage to make her stay behind; let’s just pay more attention to the female soldier later.

The supply station’s Squad Leader thought and stopped paying attention to Ye Jian, if a male soldier like him kept his eyes on a female soldier, that would be too impolite. However, this female soldier is truly much stauncher than the missing female Arts soldiers, not even saying that she needed a breath of oxygen till now.

Li Jinnian, who was resting his eyes, didn’t speak up, although he had gone through altitude training, but it was certain that he wasn’t as experienced as J5; currently, what he needed to do was to learn from J5.

The ‘Z’ shaped winding highway rose along with the mountainside, seeming to zigzag its way into heaven; no matter how slowly the truck was driven, the sharp and bumpy bends still caused everyone in the vehicle to shake left and right in large margins. Sometimes they’ll tilt forwards and back, and the entire process was like making somersaults, causing everyone’s stomach to feel unwell.

The tires ran over the highway that had the highest altitude, the worst conditions, and the hardest roads in the world, Ye Jian, who had finished taking inventory of the medical supplies, also started resting her eyes; her body was swaying with the truck, although she couldn’t sleep, it was helping reduce car sickness.

After driving for nearly thirty kilometers, the truck started to stop.

The moment the truck stopped, everyone in the vehicle opened their eyes.

Ye Jian twisted her head and took a look at the outside, through the gap in the wind curtain, and determining from the dim light outside, she knew that it was already getting dark, and the light that refracted into her eyes were all snow-light.

Longhawk, who had just gotten off the truck, walked to the back of the truck’s body and bellowed: “Signs of an avalanche, I’m afraid the missing Art Troupe are inside.”

That wasn’t good news!

Everyone on the truck immediately tensed up their faces as they jumped off the truck; only then did they realize the car was stopped on top of a mountain.

With the dim snowlight’s help, they looked forward from where they were at and noticed the route towards the longest and most dangerous Mazar Pass of the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway; meanwhile, a section of this highway was sealed off by snow from an avalanche.

Snow avalanche, one of Nature’s shows of power.

Ye Jian used binoculars to observe the area ahead, which seemed not far, but in reality, was around 10 kilometers away, then looked up slowly and noticed that the side of the snow mountain seemed to be shaved off by more than half, the never-melting snow had collapsed from the top of the mountain to the bottom, even if she was observing from such a far distance, even if the avalanche had already ended,… it still made onlookers feel a sense of panic.

The members of the Elite Platoon who had witnessed the scene ahead pursed their lips tight together; J5 lowered his voice and said to Li Jinnian: “Half a mountain’s worth of snow collapsed, I’m afraid the odds are stacked against them.”

“There’s an encircling road ahead, the two drivers were Sergeants with more than a decade’s worth of experience traversing the Highway, if they noticed something abnormal, they would very likely enter that encircling road, and avoid this avalanche.” Li Jinnian adjusted the focal distance of the binoculars as he observed the avalanched section earnestly, “If they entered the encircling road, then the odds are in their favor.”

J5 knew he had traversed through this dangerous road the moment he heard him, and from how clearly he remembered it, it definitely wasn’t just once or twice; only by passing through countless times could someone remember.

There was indeed an encircling road ahead, there’s a section where the road was carved half into a mountain, and the approximate location of the avalanche observed from where they were, seemed to be that encircling road section.

At this point, the Art Troupe had already been missing for as long as six hours!
