Chapter 2608 Love Each Other

Ye Jian already understood what Father Fu meant, so she hurriedly said with a smile, “Grandpa, I have been here for several days. Father came to me the day before yesterday after receiving the letter I sent. You have been busy, so he didn’t inform you.”

The old Sir went to the Aerospace Academy a few days ago to participate in a very important academic conference. He wasn’t home until last night. When he returned home, he continued to have discussions with the students from the Aerospace Academy, so he didn’t have time to ask about his granddaughter.

This meeting was naturally a surprise to him.

While listening to his granddaughter’s explanation, he smiled and said, “Our family is usually busy. We don’t have much free time. But this person, he is always busy with the work at hand. You guys are all military people. The country trains you, and the people trust you. It’s not good for the country and the people if you’re not busy!”

The old Sir had dedicated his life to the country and the people, and his selfless spirit had affected countless students in the Aerospace Academy. Even if the former students had become outstanding in the aviation field now, they still remembered the old Sir’s cultivation.

The topic turned away without a trace. Father Fu blinked at Ye Jian when he entered the door. Ye Jian was stunned for a second, but she immediately blinked at him as well.

She seemed to have discovered a…little secret, her seemingly serious and strict father, had, in fact, a mischievous side.

No wonder there was a sentence in her mother’s diary, “He kept annoying me to the point that I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I raised my foot and kicked him. He must bear the pain in order to learn a lesson. At least he knows how to behave now.”…At the time, she thought it was her mother’s troops who were making things difficult for her. Now, with a closer look, it was not making things difficult; it was rather sweet.

Father Fu’s eyes were full of smiles as if there was a little secret between the father and daughter, and it once again pulled the distance between them closer.

The old gentleman did not see their small movements; he continued, “Both of you are still young. You are at your prime time now. And this is the time when you should do more things. Don’t just spend your entire day talking nonsense; otherwise, you wouldn’t know how to do any work.”

“You two generations are considered to be enjoying blessings. You must treasure this blessing. Don’t obliterate all the blessings. Otherwise, you’ll only suffer later on.”

Father Fu, who often listened to the old man’s lecture, smiled and said, “Don’t worry, your granddaughter and I will always remember what you said. You see, your granddaughter is now a freshman cadet and just started training in the army. We all remember it.”

“Good that you remember. You must always remember; you mustn’t forget.” The old man had suffered so much but still had a big heart; even if life was difficult, he still thought about how to take up responsibility and contribute his strength in building China.

Back in the house, Ye Jian went to the kitchen to pour two cups of warm water, one for the old Sir and the other for her father. When she was about to go back to the kitchen to serve the old Sir some porridge, Father Fu said distressingly, “Don’t forget to quickly wash up and change into comfortable home clothes. Your room is on the east side upstairs, the one at the end near the sun with the main guard. You can sleep well there.”

The old Sir lived in a two-story small western-style building, which was bought with his life savings. The country gave it to him at the time, but the old man didn’t want it for free as it felt that it was a “shameless” thing to do.

And the house didn’t even belong to him after he bought it because he wanted to directly donate it back to the country after a hundred years so that other heroes who contributed to the country later could move in.

The layout of the house was excellent. Every room had its own toilet except for two rooms.
