However, in Ye Jian’s case, she didn’t want to continue chatting with him while laughing so casually. That night by the school’s swan lake, she had seen the glimmer of light in his eyes. It was as if the beast was conserving its energy, waiting for the right moment to pounce on its prey.
And she was his prey!
Even though he was laughing right now, it was only on the surface. For someone like him, even if he was standing there unmoving, he still gave off the feeling of an unapproachable mountain. No matter how amiable he currently looked like, after a momentary distraction, he only needed to show off an all-knowing smirk for you to remember how big of a distance between you there was and how dangerous that man is.

“I’ll still wait even if you’ll be arriving later. I’ll wait until…” He bent his waist; the minty breath brushed past her cheeks. He was so close to her…, Ye Jian’s body unnoticeably stiffened up.
It even seemed like her breathing had become in sync with his. With each rise and fall, she got enveloped by his presence. Listening to his rich voice, it came mellowly like an intoxicating wine. “I’ll be waiting until you appear. No matter how late, I’m still willing to wait.”
He knew her body was now stiff. No matter how calm she was acting on the outside, he noticed that her expression was trembling. The smile on his handsome face became even more mysterious.
His gruff and intoxicating voice seemed to carry the tenderness of water, causing the feeling of powerlessness to once again spread from Ye Jian’s heart.

Xia Jinyuan understood that she was avoiding him, so he stopped teasing her. He followed her lead and changed the topic back to business. “We still have a meeting inside. You do not have any time to rest as you are required to participate in the meeting immediately.”
Ye Jian’s gaze could finally meet his calmness. She nodded her head and said earnestly: “I’ve rested for more than two hours in the plane, I don’t feel too tired right now. I can do that immediately.”
Honestly, I have waited to write an objective review and finished reading available chapters before doing so.
First, the theme is not bad. A person on the peak gets betrayed by his close friends. Then he reincarnates a few thousand years later.
We see that these ~10000 years haven’t changed anything and all he knows are still available but of course the main body’s memories also helps this.
But then we see nothing else about this. We only read that his temper is unique, but that’s all.
He suddenly becomes able to refine pills at one point but there is no good explanation how or when.
The pace is quite fast but fast pace means no good details.
The MC is simply stupid, he says it’s dangerous to do something but he still does it. He should have lessons for how stupid others can and can betray him easily but he still trusts others easily. When he was just a trash a few months ago, he can become a patriarch of the family. An influential merchant can easily trust him and there is no reason to do so.
Full of cliches, no character development and no good world building.
We only see “sword cultivators” and there is no consistent usage of the levels of cultivation. Literally everyone uses a sword.
It’s explained heavy sword is useless multiple times, then at one point, suddenly to contrary it’s stated it’s actually helpful but one chapter later it also is stated it’s useless.
I believe this is an amateur story and I hope the author can actually improve themselves in the future.
It was a quick read even though I didn’t enjoy it a lot, it helped me to pass some commute-time.
