Chapter 22: The Price

Karas wanted to form ties with the Aquisor family, but Forlan immediately cut it from his side, which meant that the latter wants Karas to go through his son if he wishes to do anything like that.

And now, Karas said that there are still many more antiques like the vases he showed left lying in there.

Forlan smiled and asked: “I, how about I buy that information? I wish to excavate that cave myself, it’s my dream to have some sort of adventure and finding treasures since I was young.”

“This… for what?” Karas asked with an expression of confusion.

Hearing this, Forlan felt it, although Karas looked as innocent and confused as he is, Forlan knew that he fell for his trap!

But after a few moments of contemplation, Forlan sighed, it was his fault.

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

As soon as Karas had an idea of forming ties with the Aquisor family, he immediately cut it off.

And now, what can he exchange the cave’s information for? Money? Offer meager money to the adopted son of Roan? Although they are currently wealthier than Roan, but it’s only by a few folds. To temp a person of Roan’s status, they’d at least need to give him half of their total wealth! It’s pure idiocy to do that!

What can he offer to Karas?

Of course, there can only be one answer… Cooperation!

Forlan started fidgeting, seriously, either to just back off and leave or take this chance. But why is he hesitating?

First off, he held saying an estimated price of the vase, Karas didn’t ask as well, clearly, the two of them are looking for an opening, yet, to his shock, Karas gave all the opening he needed, but Forlan didn’t take into consideration, what can he offer a rich boy that isn’t fazed by 40,000 Gis, his granddaughter? Of course that’s out of the question already.

Other than cooperating, Forlan can only give one other thing, and that is a favor for the other party.

Forlan smiled: “How about I’ll owe you one for this? After that, I’ll give half of what we get from it to you…”

Surely, Karas can do something like that, and what does a young man would need his favor for?

Forlan merely smiled, thickening his face as much as he could as he uttered those words.

Karas smiled: “Favor? No need to do it like that.”

Pausing for a bit, Karas pretended to ponder for a bit before saying with a wide smile: “How about I just show you wherever it is? Consider it me giving it to an acquaintance.”

Forlan’s face continuously kept on changing not knowing how to express himself: ‘This kid is too scheming… I… I lost…’

A fight where he has no cards to show, it’s extremely one-sided!

But after a while, Forlan shook his head and gave up, he nodded his head: “Then, I’ll accept it humbly.”

“Oh, do tell me if you ever need help.” As Forlan spoke, he handed his card over to Karas.

Karas smiled, he swiped it over his watch and immediately registered Forlan as a friend, at the same time, Forlan’s watch did a systematic notice before turning off again, signaling that the two of them had been registered as friends.

Forlan decided to leave for now, but then, he looked at the vases and the piece of tea leaf on the teacup.

“This, mind if I buy this piece from you?” Forlan asked, since this piece of tea leaf can still be used a few times, he’d at least like to get it.

Seeing that Karas wasn’t moving and genuinely expressing confusion, Forlan couldn’t help but cough a few times: “Since it’s used, I would’ve bargained, but since it’s really a rare tea herb that would definitely have no way to acquire, how about I buy this piece of tea leaf for a hundred thousand gis?”

Hearing this, Karas was quite shocked, but he remained stoic outside, he started to process Forlan’s words.

‘The 40,000 gis price isn’t the price of the whole container, but, it’s actually the price of a single tea leaf?!’ Karas didn’t know how to react, he maintained his calm expression, but deep inside, he felt quite shocked.

There are at least 200 to 300 leaves inside the container, his mind immediately started to work, calculating the gains he would benefit from.

That would mean that he’d at least have 8,000,000 gis minimum!

Seeing that Karas wasn’t replying, Forlan immediately asked again: “How about 120,000 gis? Say, my offer is already generous, shouldn’t you at least give this much generosity?”

Karas smiled at Forlan: “How about you take a seat again?”

For Forlan, he himself knew how hard it is to part with something this rare.

It may already be a used tea leaf, but it can still be reused multiple times. Giving away this used tea leaf is the same as using another one.

No matter how you look at it, tea lovers will definitely hate parting with a single leaf, it’s also more so for tea leaves that who knows if they can still get more in the future!

But Forlan misunderstood something, and that is, calling Karas a tea lover is as ridiculous as a monkey being able to fly.

Forlan is willing to fork out 200,000 gis just to acquire this used-up tea leaf, although it may sound ridiculous, but that is what a tea lover would definitely do for so long as they can buy a tea as precious as this.

But then, Karas smiled, he took something from his pocket and placed it together beside the Empyrean Warm Tea.

Forlan couldn’t help but gulp a mouthful of saliva as he asked: “I-is… are those… as well…”

He couldn’t even make sense of his own words; he can only point tremblingly and stutter as he looked at Karas with wide-opened eyes.

Arten couldn’t watch the show any longer, he held Farlon’s hands and tried to calm him: “Grandpa, calm down, your health, take care of your health!”

Forlan heaved, he still glared at the three containers placed on top of the table with trembling gaze.

Karas smiled: “This one contains Empyrean Hot Tea leaves, while this one has Empyrean Cold Tea leaves.”

“Also, this.” Karas flicked his fingers, a servant came forward bringing a complete tea set.

“This is called Empyrean Tea set, they are part of a single collection.”

Forlan’s expression already lost all of its colors, he continuously trembled, after all, even if he’s grown old, he can clearly see the similarity between the teas contain and the tea set.

Forlan couldn’t help but asked: “This… why didn’t you use it earlier?”

Karas replied: “I was just enjoying a single tea leaf, why would I even bring these out.”

Forlan frowned couldn’t help but feel that it’s quite pitiful not to drink the tea with its most suitable tea set.

The decorations match the tea containers, but Forlan found something amiss.

“The container’s designs are the dragon, the flaming bird, and the turtle, but the decoration has an addition of a tiger on it.”

The Impyrean Tea Set has four teapots, three teacups each with the dragon, phoenix, turtle, and tiger together with the teaspoons.

Karas smiled: “That means I still lack one of the tea sets.”

He then shook his head: “I’ve not seen nor found the last part of the tea container, I guess that’ll be one of my regrets, but then, if I ever stumble upon them, I’ll be sure to inform you of it.”

Karas immediately had another card up his sleeves!

“A shame indeed.” Forlan smiled bitterly, truth be told, if he was in Karas’s position, he would definitely feel a whole bunch of regret. It’ll be fine if he has collected one or two sets, a dragon and a phoenix, or a dragon and a tiger set, it means you’re still far from completing the whole set.

But if you only lack a single container, it’ll be the same as having to read a novel only to have the author not give it a proper ending.

Karas smiled: “So, how much do you think the price of this tea collection will round up to?”

Only allowed on Creativenovels.com

Forlan pondered for a bit before he smiled at Karas: “The minimum it will go up for would at least be around 20,000,000 gis.”

Karas hearing this couldn’t help but smile!
