Chapter Seven – Twisted scum tyrant

On the other hand, inside a black car, sat the little lamb and the wolf, but they thought wrongly. It was the lamb who was driving and the wolf who was at the passenger’s seat eating snacks.

Guo Sichen wordlessly drove to her university with a blank expression. He reviewed her profile before passing it to King and recalled that she studied at University A.

He felt a bit pensive. He was mistaken for as a bodyguard by a rich family’s young mistress… Didn’t that mean that he didn’t work that hard enough? People had only been respectful to him and he never met anyone who frowned and demanded things from him.

Moreover, this woman happened to be someone he felt he owed a part of his success now. He didn’t bother explaining that he wasn’t her bodyguard and just drove her to her university.

Song Lan rummaged for snacks in her bag. She always had a bad mood during the morning when she hasn’t eaten anything yet. Finding a caramel bar, a happy smile finally blossomed on her face.

She was taking a bite from the bar when she felt the watchful eyes of the bodyguard. She innocently stared back at him. The man had to take his eyes off to drive.

Now that she was not muddled from being hungry and sleep-deprived, she suddenly realized that he was so handsome ah! He had a good side profile too. Such a tall nose, good complexion, and serious eyes with long lashes that his eyes looked prettier than a woman’s.

Song Lan sighed in her heart, such a handsome face. What a pity he just worked as a bodyguard. If he was in the entertainment industry, no one would have the cheek to claim that they were good looking ah!

Now that she’s not in a bad mood, she felt a bit guilty that she was rude to her new bodyguard. “So… from what Security Company are you from?” Song Lan tried to make a conversation.

“I… I’m sorry about earlier. I just don’t like waking up in the morning, I was also hungry…” Song Lan muttered, feeling embarrassed, and a bit resentful.

Guo Sichen only glanced at her before looking back at the road. Sing Lan felt a bit awkward with the long silence. She was about to open her mouth when he finally answered.

“Ji Security Group.” His voice was deep and smooth, almost soothing but very manly.

Song Lan had heard of this company before. Gasping, she looked worriedly at Guo Sichen. “Good brother, you work there? Oh my, aren’t you being overworked like a slave there? I heard that the owner was such a twisted scum tyrant that he even has a punishment system for his employees! Moreover, he takes 60% of their pay! Wow, I don’t know how you manage to accept those terms and stay.”

The twisted scum tyrant, “…”

Guo Sichen felt disturbed by Song Lan’s words and furrowed his brows.

“That isn’t true…” Guo Sichen refuted with an upset frown.

Song Lan looked at him with sympathy, appearing as if she understood him, patting his shoulder. “Don’t worry good brother, I know it’s difficult for you to say since you aren’t allowed to badmouth that scum tyrant so I’ll cuss him out all you want for you!”

Guo Sichen was speechless and just shook his head with an upset frown.

Later on, her stomach grumbled, filling the car with its loud sound.

Guo Sichen glanced at her.

Guo Sichen wordlessly pressed a button and a compartment opened, full of snacks. Song Lan’s eyes twinkled from seeing so much food. Her lips formed an ‘o’ in amazement.

“Where’d you get so much food? Did you already know that I like to snack a lot?” Song Lan assumed that her father informed him of this.

Guo Sichen coughed at the sudden question, his ears turning a bit red. Song Lan didn’t notice this as she was busy rummaging.

“Wow, what a variety!” Song Lan continued to exclaim.

In reality… he had a sweet tooth too. With such an aura and identity, it didn’t really match him but he enjoyed sweets. His dignified image would probably collapse if people would find out that he was a foodie.

It was something he lacked self-discipline on that he had to watch his weight and sugar intake every now and then. Madam Ji always nagged him about it.

Unknowingly, people actually thought of him as a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. A twisted scum who runs his company like a dictator. This was mainly because of the Ji Clan’s ties to the underworld and they had the impression that the Ji Security Group provides protection even to criminals. Though this was not a highly publicized matter and only a hushed rumor, the Ji Group heir’s reputation was still affected.

“Those are… all prepared for you.” Guo Sichen lied through his teeth with a straight face.

Guo Sichen felt a bit regretful that he opened his secret stash when he saw that she grabbed handfuls and stuffed it inside her bag.

He didn’t know whether it was the snacks or him that finally made her comfortable that she rambled about her favorite snacks…

Song Lan didn’t notice that the chocolate had smeared on the sides of her mouth and crumbs of the waffle had fallen on her lap.

It was a bizarre situation for him. He didn’t expect that he would meet her like this and be mistaken as her bodyguard. Fortunately, he didn’t find her that… unbearable, unlike most girls her age. He actually found her quite endearing. Must be because he felt thankful to her in his heart.

“Oh, I forgot to ask you for your name.” Song Lan realized and turned to him innocently with her messy face.

Guo Sichen frowned when he took a glance at her. His hand was itching to wipe it off that he didn’t pay attention to what she said. He only fumbled with one hand for his handkerchief in his pockets.

Song Lan was waiting for his answer but was met with silence again.

Ayo, does this guy process words slower? Why does he always respond after a minute of silence? Or is he simply ignoring her?

They finally stopped in front of the open gates of the university with a lot of students walking inside.

Song Lan removed her seatbelt and was about to go out when he bodyguard held her wrist to stop her.

Her eyes widened and when she saw his serious and intent gaze. She suddenly felt self-conscious under his scrutiny.

‘Ayo! What is he doing?’ Song Lan panicked in her head, blinking a little too much.

“Are you going out just like that?” Guo Sichen furrowed his brows.

“Y-yes! Why?” Song Lan stuttered, eyes wide.

He frowned and handed her a clean white handkerchief. Song Lan stupidly accepted the handkerchief, confused. She glanced up to him, questioning.

Guo Sichen felt helpless and only pointed to her lips. Song Lan looked at herself in the mirror and groaned.

“This is so embarrassing.” She muttered indignantly as she cleaned up the sides of her mouth, staining the white handkerchief.

“I’ll wash it up and give it back to you.” Song Lan said apologetically.

“No need, ” Guo Sichen coolly said.

“Oh, well, goodbye good brother… ” Song Lan opened the door and stepped outside, waving at him.

“Sichen.”

“Oh, goodbye brother Sichen!” Song Lan nodded and felt that he was kinda weird. Why’d he waited until a minute passed before answering?

In Ji Security Group building…

Guo Sichen immediately called a meeting with the marketing and public relations department. His face was as black as a bottom of a pot as he replayed the words of Song Lan.

[Good brother, you work there? Oh my, aren’t you being overworked like a slave there? I heard that the owner was such a twisted scum tyrant that he even has a punishment system for his employees! Moreover, he takes 60% of their pay! Wow, I don’t know how you manage to accept those terms and stay.]
