Chapter Three – What it’s like to be a young miss

These past few days, Song Lan had been enjoying the company of her grandparents together with her father. They all doted on her and kept her entertained. It was all like a dream she doesn’t want to wake up from.

It was weird, it was as if her inner child had been awoken under the care of her family. The previously 19-year-old started acting like a true six-year-old. Being spoiled and adored like that, who wouldn’t want to amuse and act cute for their family?

She found out that they all obeyed her demands no matter what. She was enjoying it so much!

The first thing she demanded was to change her room. She wasn’t fond of hot pink. Even if she found her inner child, it wasn’t that to her taste. All the frilly laces and scary-looking dolls were making black lines appear on her smooth forehead. She also got rid of her toys to which baffled her father and grandparents.

She simply came with the excuse that she found it childish and that she was grown up now and that they could give it to children in orphanages.

Of course, Old Madam Li and Master Qing were delighted, thinking that their little princess was growing up. Old Master Sun felt it was only natural that the little girl was suddenly acting like a grown-up. He didn’t understand why they have been gushing over her sudden maturity. She seems to take after her grandmother and no one would associate frilly laces and dolls with Old Madam Li…

Song Lan remembered the name of the orphanage before she and her brother got taken. It was called Greenfield Orphanage. She wondered whether this orphanage also existed at this time. And sure enough, after pestering her father about it, she found out that a similar orphanage existed. It was at the exact same location with the exact same name.

Having a soft spot for the children in the orphanage, she asked her grandparents if the Sun Family Foundation could sponsor this orphanage. They happily did so, making sure to praise the thoughtfulness of their granddaughter.

“Daddy, I think besides food and clothes we can also help them with their education. I’m sure there are hardworking students there that deserve a scholarship at a better school!” Song Lan suggested brightly, swinging her legs excitedly.

When she was an orphan, she wanted to go to study at a good school so badly. There were more opportunities in big universities. What she didn’t know that because of the Sun Family Foundation’s help, the fate of the orphans there changed completely! Even benefitting her in the future…

Song Lan spent most of her time with different classes prepared for her. She excelled at different things, she found out she actually had a talent for arts and could play the piano pretty well for her age.

Unlike other kids, as a young miss, she was homeschooled instead. Song Lan never had friends in her past life so she didn’t really feel lonely. Her family was always there to talk and play with her anyway.

“Little mistress, you’re getting good at painting ah!” Her nanny praised her as she braided Song Lan’s hair while she was busy with her painting.

“I’m thirsty.” Song Lan frowned and a maid standing at the side immediately poured fresh orange juice to a glass and handed it over to her.

Song Lan was now ten years old. She had gotten so used to demanding things and getting her way that she already felt that it was only natural. And indeed this little girl grew up very spoiled and overbearing!

Song Lan developed many hobbies after taking her classes. She enjoyed drawing and painting, she also had a good time reading various books. She even tried writing a story.

She was already thinking ahead. Now that she was given a second life, she can’t just live like an idle young miss. Song Lan realized that she could now never live without shopping, eating good food and spending money! She openly welcomed the luxuries but she knew that she needed to be capable too. She was going to live without restraints!

Indeed sticking around Grandma Li had its good and bad aspects…

“Young miss, your bath is ready.” A maid respectfully bowed at the side. Satisfied, Song Lan dropped her brushes and pushed herself from the high stool, reaching with her small legs.

After the bath, Song Lan had time to stare at her face in the mirror while her nanny dried her long hair.

Her appearance was indeed good ah! She had smooth and tender skin as if water could be pinched out of it. Her eyes were starry and bright, her nose was delicate and her lips looked rosy and soft. She still had a small amount of baby fat on her face as she was still a small child be she was sure she’d grow up beautifully!

In her previous life, she had the same exact features but she wasn’t this beautiful. She couldn’t take care of herself due to their circumstances. But now, from her birth, she was taken care of delicately. She didn’t have a single scar or scratch on her body!
