Lu Zhong had already gone farming while Miao Cui Lan was out selling beancurd. There were only her and the two little girls at home, what should they do?
“Auntie, auntie! We don’t know what that scoundrel would do this time, auntie, you should quickly hide in the backyard!” Lu Xiao Shu hurriedly urged.
Tong Yu Er was touched and amused at that. It calmed her anxiety down and she chuckled, “But then, what would you do when he’s here?”
“Don’t worry! We’re just kids, what could he do to us? If he dares to do anything stupid, I’ll let the dog after him! Auntie, quickly lock the door in case he comes to steal from us, you should go hide now!” Lu Xiao Shu added with a huff.
After giving it some thought, Tong Yu Er felt that it made sense too. Lu Xiao Shu was not someone who would allow herself to suffer any losses. Moreover, Miao Tian Bao could not do anything to the two of them, so she agreed, “Alright, I’ll hide first. You both, be good. Just scream if he bullies you, I’ll be at the back, okay?”
“Okay! We got it!” Lu Xiao Shu nodded.
Tong Yu Er swiftly locked the door before rushing to the backyard. Meanwhile, Lu Xiao Shu and Xiao Xue played under the grapevines on a mat.
“When that scoundrel is here, don’t let him know that auntie is home.” Lu Xiao Shu reminded.
“Yes! I don’t like him either.” Xiao Xue nodded. She had always been clean, materialistic and conscious. No wonder she disliked Miao Tian Bao at first sight.
While the sisters started playing, the gates were pushed open and a young man came yelling, “Anyone home? Where’s everyone? Where did they go?”
The sister’s exchanged glances, their eyes filled with disgust.
“Who are you? Why are you at our home?” The sisters did not even stand up as Lu Xiao Shu glared at Miao Tian Bao, asking indignantly.
“Huh? It’s just you two little girls here?” Miao Tian Bao rolled his eyes, not even regarding them as anyone worth his time, “Where’re your parents and auntie?”
“They’re at work!” Lu Xiao Shu glared at him with resent before lazily replying.
“Where have they gone for work?”
“We don’t know!”
“When are they coming home?”
“We don’t know!”
“You!” Miao Tian Bao was beginning to feel frustrated. She was just a little girl, yet she dared to annoy him. The people from the Lu Family were all good for nothing!
“Don’t you recognize me?” Miao Tian Bao’s expression grew dark, “Insolence! Greet your uncle!”
Lu Xiao Shu rolled her eyes and rubbed the blonde dog lying beside her as she ignored him.
Miao Tian Bao was so offended that he was seething with anger. When he noticed Xiao Xue, who casted a glimpse at him before ignoring him, he glared at her and hissed, “You too, greet your uncle now!”
Xiao Xue was frightened by him and her expression grew timid. She frowned as if she was going to cry, yet she reluctantly greeted him.
“Why are you scaring my sister?” Lu Xiao Shu hugged her sister and snapped, “We don’t know who you are! How can we call you uncle just because you say so? You’re a liar! Liar! Bad guy! If you’re our uncle, you wouldn’t have snapped at us!”
Miao Tian Bao was thwarted, but what Lu Xiao Shu said made sense because they rarely see each other. The kids’ memories might not be that good, it would be completely normal that they could not recognize their “uncle”. However, how could he put up with them when he was scolded by Lu Xiao Shu? He pulled his sleeves up hastily, challenging them, “Alright then! You little brat! Did your parents teach you to talk back to people? How dare you disrespect your elder? Let’s see how I’ll teach you a lesson today!”
Why would Lu Xiao Shu be afraid of him? She lightly hit her blonde dog on the head and it sprang up from its slumber, growling as it stood in front of them. It replaced its warm fuzzy side with a fierce look before barking at Miao Tian Bao crazily.
Miao Tian Bao was truly frightened as he hastily took a couple of steps back, warily watching the dog.
Lu Xiao Shu clapped her hands, cheering, “Ah Wang is such a good boy! Good doggie!” Xiao Xue cheered as well.
Lu Xiao Shu grinned, “Sister, let’s feed Ah Wang with meat tonight as his reward, alright?”
“Yes, that’s great!” Xiao Xue chirped and bobbed her head.
“These two little brats! I’ll teach you a lesson later!” The sisters were getting on Miao Tian Bao’s nerves, yet he did not dare to approach them so he turned to enter the house with a huff.
Not home? They can run but they cannot hide. If they were not home, he would wait for them! What was there to be scared of?
Unexpectedly, the door was locked with a metal padlock. Miao Tian Bao became frustrated again. Why was everything not going his way today? He glared at the sisters, “Why is the door locked? Where’s the key?”
Lu Xiao Shu huffed, “What would happen if a bad guy came and the door was not locked? The keys are with my parents!”
Miao Tian Bao was defeated, and he cursed in annoyance, “Who taught this little brat all this stuff?” She was so little yet she pissed him off greatly. He heaved in frustration and resolved to sit in the corridor as he waited.
Gosh, this blunder of an idiot actually stayed!
Lu Xiao Shu glowered at him, disdain filled her heart. She budged nearer to her sister and whispered in her ear, “This scoundrel is so shameless, staying here at our home and not leaving!”
Even if it was a whisper, her voice was not soft. In any case, it was fine as long as Miao Tian Bao could overhear.
Miao Tian Bao could not help but glare at them with hatred. Xiao Xue yelped with worry, “What should we do? Does that bad guy want to rob us?”
“Hmm, let’s watch him and stop him from stealing anything. If he dares to do anything stupid, we’ll get Ah Wang to bite him!” Lu Xiao Shu decided.
“Oh, okay! Ah Wang is a good boy!” Xiao Xue nodded in agreement.
“Both of you brats better keep your mouths shut!” Miao Tian Bao was already feeling annoyed, and this angered him even more. How could he ignore the sisters when they keep calling him a bad guy? He could not sit still anymore, ignoring the big blonde dog, he rushed angrily to the sisters with haste.
“Shoo! Shoo! The bad guy was eavesdropping on us!” Lu Xiao Shu exclaimed as she got up and commanded Ah Wang to pounce at him.
Ah Wang bared his teeth and pounced at Miao Tian Bao with a fierce bark. When Lu Xiao Shu saw a long thin bamboo pole, she ran over to grab it before swinging it at Miao Tian Bao without a second thought. She yelled, “Bad guy! Bad guy! We’ll beat the bad guy!”
At first, Xia Xue was scared and she backed off to the side. Then, she got worried that her sister would get hurt so she too grabbed a bamboo pole and cried, “Sister, I’ll help you!” as she charged into the fray.
It was one dog and two little girls with bamboo poles. Miao Tian Bao went into a panic frenzy as he evaded their hits left and right. While he did not pay attention, his body had already suffered a few hits by the bamboo poles. After all, the two were too little to pack much force in their hits, he would, of course, spend more effort dodging Ah Wang.
“Stop it!” Miao Tian Bao roared. Enduring the pain, he got hold of the poles from Lu Xiao Shu and Xiao Xue, then he rushed and stomped at Ah Wang with bulging eyes. Ah Wang was startled and did not dare to pounce at him anymore, but growled and watched him vigilantly.
Miao Tian Bao secretly let out a sigh of relief before he glared at the two girls darkly, “Let go! Let go of them this instance!”
He was a grown man who definitely had more strength than two girls who were less than seven years old. Xiao Xue reluctantly let go of her pole, yet Lu Xiao Shu stubbornly held onto hers while secretly cursing him: As*hole, if I was a few years older, I would’ve beaten you to a pulp by now. There won’t be a situation like this.
“You’re still not letting go?” Miao Tian Bao smirked coldly.
Lu Xiao Shu stubbornly pursed her lips, she pulled backwards with more force instead. When Xiao Xue saw her, she went ahead and helped her sister pull the pole as well.
“Heh! You have no idea what you’re getting into, you brats!” Miao Tian Bao smirked again.
All of a sudden, Lu Xiao Shu released her tight grip, causing Miao Tian Bao to stumble backwards and he tripped over a big tub used for washing clothes. His body fell backwards and he yowled as his butt landed in the tub full of water. His clothes were soaked and he yelled in shock.
Lu Xiao Shu and Xiao Xue belted in laughter as they watched him fumble and stumble around in panic.
Eventually, Tong Yu Er could not stop worrying about the sisters, so she waited outside the backyard until the coast was clear and she tip-toed into the yard. From the backyard, she silently watched what was happening. When she heard the sisters’ cheerful laughter, she could not help but wonder what was actually happening.
Miao Tian Bao’s lips trembled, and his chest might even explode in rage. Glaring at the sisters, he was so frustrated that no words came from his lips. He only had one thought in his mind, that was to strangle them to death! All his life, he was doted on by his parents, and he was the little boss at home. If he was eating meat, others would not even get a sip of soup. He was never treated like a joke in his life!
Miao Tian Bao stood haggardly as he wringed his clothes to get rid of the water. He maliciously cursed at the two little brats before sprinting at them
Lu Xiao Shu hastily grabbed her sister and ran while yelling for Ah Wang’s help. The scene in the yard was a complete catastrophe.
Luckily, business was good for Miao Cui Lan today. Her bean curd sold out very fast, so she headed home two hours earlier. While she was still outside their house, she could overhear the yelling, screaming, and barking in the yard. It sounded like a total disaster and it worried her, causing her to quicken her steps.
As she pushed the gates open, Miao Cui Lan was stunned.
She thought to herself that this must be the most absurd thing she had ever seen in her life.
There was one big grown man madly chasing down two girls whose ages added up made less than seven years old. There was also a big blonde dog barking madly at that man and pouncing at him repeatedly, yet the man never gave up and kept on chasing to hit the two little girls.
“Everyone, stop!” Miao Cui Lan roared with a shaky voice. She was furious.
“Mother!”
“Mother!”
There was a moment of silence before Lu Xiao Shu and Xiao Xue rushed into Miao Cui Lan’s embrace.
Immediately, Xiao Xue broke down in tears. She was really frightened by the hostile expression on Miao Tian Bao.
