“Grandpa Grandpa! Story”

A small child waddled his way towards an elderly man sitting beside an aged tree.

“Ho ho ho, did your father let you come here?”

The elderly man laughed as his wrinkled hands stroked his whitened beard.

“No! but mama said I could, so papa had to listen”

The cute little child said as he proudly puffed his chest while he proudly explained how he got his mother to scold his father into agreeing.

“Ho ho ho, what do you want to know then? Do you want to know about the dragons of the east? Or the Council of Queens from underground? Or the Endless Seas and the floating cities of the south?”

The elderly man said as he leaned his arms unto his wooden cane.

“Oh oh, I want to know about the tiger king!”

The small child said, as his eyes shimmered with curiosity.

“Ho ho ho ho, the tiger king? From where did you hear this about?”

The old man asked.

“Uncle said he saw the Tiger King in the Endless Forest once!”

The small child said as he gazed cutely at the old man.

“Ho ho ho, the tiger king, do you know it has a name?”

The old man said as he stroked his beard again.

“Name?”

The small child asked, tilting his head sideways.

“Yes, a name, it struck fear to many but almost everyone has forgotten about it, it was one of the strongest beasts that live till this day, but many didn’t know that it had started off as the weakest tiger instead”

The old man said as he looked into the sky. The Tiger King had become a God Stage Beast, but it had gone quiet after so many years.

“Weakest?”

The small child asked. Kings were never weak as far as he knew. The small child was surprised when he saw the old man wave his arms, miniature beasts suddenly appeared as the old man continued.

“Yes, it was born in a war, a massive fight between the bears and the tigers. The tigers were strong but their numbers were small, the mother of the Tiger King was ganged up by four Earth Bears. The Bears were strong and mighty beasts, but the Tiger King’s mother was a proud White Tiger, one who was capable of using light magic, if it was a normal fight then the Earth Bears would never have a chance against the White Tigress, but the White Tigress was pregnant. Halfway through the fight it was hit by two of the Earth Bears and died, the Father of the Tiger King was too late to rescue the White Tigress, but it still avenged it as it killed the attacking Bears, the Tiger King’s father was just as rare as the White Tiger, it was a Black Tiger, it poked the White Tiger but it was already dead.  The Black Tiger noticed the belly of the White Tiger move so it cut open the White Tiger’s belly and out came the young Tiger King”

The old man said as he moved his wrinkled old arms as the mana shaped creatures vanished while as small malnourished tiger appeared.

“Poor kitty”

The small child said as he saw the emaciated figure of the young tiger.

“Grandpa make the kitty healthy please!”

The small child pleaded as tears started forming from the rims of his eyes.

“Ho ho ho! But don’t you want to know how it became strong instead?”

The old man said as he laughed, the wrinkles on his face shook as he saw the small child begging to heal the mana shaped beast.

“But.. but..”

The small child said, the emaciated figure of the cat suddenly became chubby and healthy which made him smile happily.

“Ho ho ho!”

The old man laughed as he saw the small child’s reaction. He continued the story but decided not to tell the parts where the Tiger King struggled instead.

“The Tiger King grew stronger as it battled its way to become the king of the forest!”

The old man said, as the mana tiger became an adult Tiger, the pattern on its body became golden as it grew stronger and bigger, it had many other Tiger following behind it but it fought all its battle personally, the mana tiger battled many beasts until it became the king of the forest.

“Yehey! The Tiger King won!”

The small child jumped around as he celebrated the win of the mana tiger.

“Ho ho ho!”

The old man laughed as well.

“Grandpa! Grandpa! I’ll come back again when mama’s home”

The small child said as he hurriedly went back to their house as if remembering something.

“Ho ho ho!”

The old man laughed one last time as he went quiet and gazed up into the sky.

‘It’s been such a long time, old friend’

The old man thought as he sat down in silence, the wind suddenly blew as the tree beside him shook, its leaves flew away as it traveled through the darkness of the night.
