Chapter 2: Forcing A Discipleship (Part 2)

As she mulled over the thought, Qi Huan flatted her lips, and used her face-changing skills that she had learned in her drama club for three years in college.

Seeing the little girl sitting on the ground crying out loud, Xu Kong Zi suddenly felt a terrible headache. In all his life, he had most feared of a woman crying. He didn’t even mess with this little girl. Why was she crying?

Qi Huan wiped her tears while pinching her thigh, taking the moment to peek at the old man. Seeing that the old man appeared anxious but didn’t speak, Qi Huan cried even louder this time.

“You, you, you don’t cry. It’s all my fault, I was wrong, what do you want me to do so that you’ll stop crying…” Finally, Xu Kong Zi begged. He almost sat beside Qi Huan and started crying as well.

Seeing that she had almost gotten what she wanted, Qi Huan choked back her cry, tears still kept rolling down her cheeks, as she squeaked, “I, I don’t want to live anymore…”

Qi Huan’s first sentence scared the heck out of the old Taoist, “Don’t say that, I really didn’t see anything. What do you mean you don’t want to live anymore? Look at you, you’re young, you have a long life ahead of you!” The old Taoist laughed cautiously, for fear that Qi Huan would be scared to death if he spoke too loud.

“Wuu, wuu…… I don’t have a father and a mother… I secretly stayed with the Song Family just because I do not want to starve to death outside, wuu, wuu…… If Old Master Song finds out that I was pretending to be a ghost, he will kill me.” Qi Huan spoke through sobs. She even grabbed the old man’s sleeve over to blow her nose.

“This, this…” Xu Kong Zi had been cultivating in the mountains for a long time. He never knew that there was such a miserable person in the mortal world. Qi Huan’s made up story made Xu Kong Zi feel pity for her.

“How about… How about you follow me to the mountains? Although I can’t bring your parents back to life, I can offer you food.”

“No, no, that’s not good. If others know about it, they will blame you.” Qi Huan suppressed her smile while wiping her tears.

“Then… how about you be my student first?” Xu Kong Zi asked cautiously.

“This…” Qi Huan pretended to hesitate. Only God knew how happy she secretly was at that time.

“I know this is a bit inconvenient for you, but you can’t stay in the Song Family’s house. This is all my fault. I should be responsible for you. Although I am not a good teacher, I will never let you be wronged.” Xu Kong Zi said it sincerely. If these words were heard by the disciples on Qing Yun Mountain, Qi Huan’s head would probably be chopped off.

Xu Kong Zi could be considered as the person with the best reputation in the entire cultivation world. It was a good thing to be his apprentice. She did not expect that Xu Kong Zi would have to beg others to be his apprentice.

Xu Kong Zi’s words made Qi Huan’s face reddened a little. She didn’t expect that this old man was such a good-hearted person. No, she should call him shifu now.

And so, this year, the first sensational event in the cultivation world happened: Xu Kong Zi of Qing Yun Mountain had an apprentice, and she was even a female apprentice. And from then on, the cultivation world ceased from being peaceful.
