The judge inside the room was also getting irritated by the constant noise Isolda was making. As per the law, an accused couldn’t be silenced till he or she was not proven guilty. Listening to her yell in her cell, the devils also demanded for time to argue with each other.
Judge granted them time because he too was fed up of hearing her. He opened the drawer and took the cotton ball out. He put a pinch of cotton in his right ear, but when he was about to do the same with his left ear, people in the court came with a demand.
“We too want cottons.” Devils present there said.
They were just not one or two whining devils. All of them wanted an escape of the sound.
Judge called a guard, “Bring the cotton from storeroom.”
The guard rushed, keeping his ears closed. When he returned, he did not have cotton with him.
“Somebody stole all the cotton in the court.” The guard panted.
