He returned to the train. Sheriff was surprised to see him return so early. Roderick told him everything what he had seen.
Sheriff went on a long rant after finding out what Roderick had just done. Roderick tried to shrug his voice for a while, but it was too much for him to do so.
“Without him, getting Gonzalez is not easy.” Sheriff now roared in a robotic voice, “GO AND GET HIM!”
“Relax you hot head punk. I’ll get him. He didn’t go on horse.” Roderick said and followed the Juan’s foot trails.
By the time Roderick reached to the village, horizon had consumed sun by half. He had no track of time so the the sight which was supposed to be elegant surprised him. It was way cooler in the village now. He headed for the same place where he had left the Juan. Roderick stayed in the same hospital by drinking some water. He saw the same woman whom he had sent with the Juan.
Roderick thought Juan could be near to him, so he began searching from room to room. As he searched further in the hospital, he found Juan there. He looked burnt, had blisters all over his back and was drinking water from a big mug.
“I heard your conversation with Sheriff. You will die tonight.” Juan gulped a mouthful of water.
“It is good to find you know about it. Now come with me or Sheriff won’t take me to Time Tower.”
“He never was taking you to Time Tower. He was taking you to Gonzalez.” Said Juan.
Roderick was in shock after hearing it, “Is this true?” he asked.
“Yes, it is. Walk with him and you will get nowhere. Come with me, I’ll take you to time tower.” Juan emptied the mug.
Roderick couldn’t do anything other than agreeing. In fact, he had rescued the woman.
“What work did you do for Gonzalez?” Roderick said.
“I was a thief.”
“Then steal a horse and let’s get going.”
