Nick finished creating the summoning spells and called out two Werfur maids. The mails entered his office on hearing the call, and stood with a respectful gaze, waiting for Nick’s orders.
Nick, better known as Epsilon to the Werfurs, had not only signed a Golden Document with the Werfur race but he was also exceptionally powerful and knowledgeable in creating new spells and magic research. The Werfur maids had enough reasons to be respectful towards Nick.
Unknown to Nick, Rabial too specifically ordered them to be respectful towards Nick. Considering all of this, it was only natural that the Werfur maids showed the same kind of courtesy to him that they would to any of the other senior Werfurs.
Nick looked at two maids and started talking.
“I need a courtyard or similar kind of clear space for testing. Is there any available?”
The Werfur maids looked at each other. Following this, the one on the right answered.
“Lord Epsilon, please follow us.”
Nick nodded and started following the Werfur maids. After about a five-minute walk, they stepped into an elevator. The elevator whizzed down in seconds, and the door opened.
Nick laughed as he saw the scenery.
Having come underground, Nick expected a rocky area built by the Werfur race to use as a courtyard and testing grounds.
But the scenery in front of him was no different from the green plains and forests. It was weird to get a sense of how this logic even worked.
Nick did not comment on this, as he thought.
“It seems that the Werfur race has more secrets than I thought.”
At this time, one of Werfur maids spoke.
“Lord Epsilon, all other courtyards and testing grounds are blocked at the moment. This is Werfur Anderium Magic School Main Testing Grounds. You can do whatever you like here but please do expect some students around this place.”
Nick smiled and answered.
“Yes, I understand. This place is more than enough for me, thank you.”
The Werfur maids also smiled. They did not expect that the man they had regarded with disdain was this kind of a human.
After two minutes, the Werfur maids went back to their duties. For the time being, Nick was alone in the courtyard.
He did not know the full size of the place, but he did not care for the time being.
He took a deep breath and whispered.
“Summon Anubite, two times.”
Within seconds, Nick felt his magical energy sucked and his knowledge judged by some kind of power. In front of him then, two creatures manifested from pure black energy.
These creatures were the Anubites. They were each holding two sickles, the size of a human child, at about one meter. Their bodies were hard and strong without any fat. They were wearing metal armor on their chest and abdomen.
Both the Anubites were 270 cm tall. Nick who was around 180 cm, an average human height, had to look up to see their jackal-heads. At his eye level, he could only see their chests.
Nick closed his eyes and then tested his control over them. At first, he ordered them to run. As the two Anubites started running, Nick could not believe his eyes.
Their speed was top-notch. If he were to calculate roughly, their speed should be about that of a car going straight on a good road, at the speed of 100 km/hour.
The difference was that the Anubite could maintain this speed in a forest biome, between trees, and most likely in a desert biome as well.
After Nick tested the speed of these creatures, he tested their power. One slash from the Anubite’s sickle was capable of cutting down a small-sized tree. Their physical power was just below the power of a creature like a minotaur. But these two Anubites should suffer no losses if they had to take down a minotaur.
It might be a challenge if only one Anubite fought a minotaur, but as long as the Anubite had a plan and attacked strategically, it would still be easy to kill a minotaur in a one-on-one battle.
Considering that Nick was capable of summoning five Anubites at the same time, or even seven at once if he did not need to use a spell, these were indeed a force to reckon with.
If Nick was capable of summoning these Anubites during his fight against the Deep Water Organization, these creatures would have cut the Imper Level mages down like grass.
Also when he was hiding in the cave, he could still summon these Anubites to create some problems for the mages.
Each one of these creatures was capable of killing more than 10 Imper Level mages without breaking a sweat—their speed and power allowing them to escape the spells of Imper Level mages. Also because their defence was not bad, they could take three or more fireballs head-on before going down.
Three of them could even take on Elic, who was the leader of the Deep Water Organization.
Nick was satisfied with these creatures. But he wanted to try something different nonetheless. He first unsummoned the Anubites, and then re-summoned them, using one ‘Ether Stone’ per Anubite this time.
As two Anubites were summoned, the two Ether Stones used cracked and vanished. But Nick noticed something else.
Because of the Ether Stone, he did not waste any magical energy. As long as he used Ether Stones to summon these creatures, they will be slightly stronger, faster and will not cost him summoning spell magic energy consumption.
With five Ether Stones, each time he summoned these creatures, they will be five times stronger, faster, and also have a considerable defence capability.
The last thing he did was testing their specialities.
The Anubites’ special ability is the ‘Anubite Jump’. Every 10-20 seconds, they can jump 500 meters forward and 100 meters upwards. They do not take any damage from the landing whatsoever.
While watching the Anubite run in the courtyard forest and move between trees, Nick noticed that these creatures jump more than they run.
They essentially were like ninjas with jackal-heads.
After making all the observations he needed to, Nick closed his eyes and the Anubites vanished. Just as the creatures vanished, the elevator door behind Nick opened and five Werfurs enters the courtyard.
Their eyes were smaller and their ears were slightly smaller as well. Their height was 10-25 cm shorter than Rabial.
Nick whispered to himself.
“These must be the students of the Werfur Anderium Magic School.”
