Chapter 69 – Vacuum Bomb

Once Nick completed the ‘Vacuum Bomb (V-Bomb) spell, he took a deep breath before testing its ability. He wanted to test it immediately so that when the time came, he was not caught off-guard by the spell’s power.

It may perform too well or may not be up to the mark at all. Both situations were not good for him because they could create a problem from a strategic standpoint.

He needed a spell that he could use, depending on the situation he was in. He did not want a very powerful aftereffect that would bury or hurt him in an enclosed space.

It was widely known that bombs and other types of explosives claimed many lives. In most cases, it was caused by an accident in the hands of a soldier or by a person who was going to use an explosive weapon. The people who died due to such accidents were not few on Earth.

Now, in a different world, Nick created a magic spell that had a similar explosive effect. He did not want to get killed by a spell that he created himself. It would be both idiotic and tragic by all standards.

Nick took a deep breath as he looked at the ground. He exhaled and whispered.

“Vacuum Bomb”

With Nick’s whisper, a small bead, dully glowing in the color of green, manifested and shot 60-meters towards the rocky ground. It was not as fast as the Sonic Bullet but closer to an ordinary bullet. It was likely a similar speed as that of an arrow shot by an archer.

The small green-colored bead hit the ground that Nick pointed at and exploded in less than a second. The explosion was bigger than Nick thought and expected.

“Booooooooomm!… Fsssssss…”

With a crushing sound echoing in his head, the bomb exploded and a strong shockwave hit Nick’s face. It was not dangerous but it still had an impact and was hot. From this shockwave Nick could estimate the power and damage it would cause in the center of explosion.

Nick waited for two seconds and walked towards the explosion’s epicentre. He inspected the area and smiled when he saw the result.

On the spot, there was a four-meter deep crater. Its size was around 20 meters end-to-end. This was 20-meter of pure solid rock ground that had vanished and pulverized to bits as a four-meter deep crater opened up. At the same time, at a distance of about 30-40 meters, there were scorching burn marks. This meant that if a moderate-powered creature came close to the explosion by about 30-40 meters, it would burn to death.

The shockwave was capable of harming living creatures in 45-50 meters but after 50 meters, it would just generate some heat and a difference of gravitational pulse.

Nick nodded with satisfaction and whispered.

“With my new spell, I have the means to fight against mobs or monsters, and at the same time, I can crush the walls of cities without much effort. I can shoot this spell at a distance of 200-300 meters. I finally have an explosive-area damage spell that is capable of killing living beings and breaking down castles alike.”

“The energy spent in using the spell is not much either, just a little more than the Sonic Bullet. This also shows that the energy spent using Sonic Bullet is more than I thought it was.”

As soon as he thought this, Nick wanted to modify the Sonic Bullet. Now that he had another spell to compare it against, he understood how much energy the Sonic Bullet spell consumed.

Thinking about how important the spell was, capable of killing most creatures without defensive ability in a distance of almost 10 km, it was only natural that it spent too much energy. But this did not mean that Nick would not do something about it.

When the area-damage spell was completed, Nick’s eyes flashed with an evil glint, as he smiled and whispered.

“Sound Dogs, don’t you have a problem with me?”

Nick did not seek out any other tribe at the moment. He directly identified his target destination on the map and headed towards the Sound Dog Race.

The Sound Dog race were natural users of ‘sound’. Because of their bodies and other mysterious organs, they were capable of creating sounds and soundwaves that both protected themselves and harmed their foes.

Nick did not know the reason for their aggression but he did not care either. The only thing he cared about was that they attacked him first without any provocation. That was enough reason for him to attack and destroy their tribes.

The Sound Dog race had almost 15 tribes across the Grey Stone Island. Nick targeted the biggest tribe on the map as he believed that the Sound Dog Tribe Chieftain would be stationed in the biggest tribe.

Killing the leader was the best way to finish them all quickly.

Nick manipulated some magical energy on his back. Light-blue energy radiated soon after around his shoulder blades, slowly taking the shape of two angel wings. With that, Nick started flying.

The spell was not the best flying spell. It consumed too much energy and was hard to control most of the time. But Nick did it anyway because he was eyeing a ‘cool protagonist entry’ on the scene.

He mused to himself that entering the enemy tribe from the sky with glowing blue angel wings would be a powerful entrance. He wanted to do this because after all, he was just a human from Earth who was still discovering his magical capabilities.

Like most humans, there were some fantasies in his mind as well. For completing these fantasies, a human being was capable of doing the evilest of deeds that even devils and demons would be ashamed of.

He recalled a story on Earth — the devil was created to entice and lure humans away from their good ways to take the path of evil. Soon enough though, the devil learned that if he spent too much time with humans, he would lose his mind because of the evil acts that humans could do. It was true that for some, evil was only limited by imagination.
