chapter 77 – Fantasia – Knowledge

Nick could understand the broad logic behind the Forest Lady of Beast’s words but more and more he felt like it was a bait dangled in front of him. He thought about it a little bit and then answered.

“There will be a time eventually when I meet the Forest Leader, but it is not right now.”

The Forest Lady of Beast nodded and showed she understood. After that, she and the other three creatures entered the forest and vanished quickly.

Nick also took his cue to leave and flew back to the little stony island, where he had reinforced his passive shield and created a new defensive spell.

In about 10 minutes, he reached the island and again sat on the tallest mountain.

“I need some help if I am going to do anything here. Things surely are not as simple as they seem.”

Nick thought this and after a moment, he summoned an Anubite. The Anubite was standing on its legs, looking around with extra vigilance.

Nick focused and inhaled a deep breath. Then he channelled this condensed breath, infused with magical energy, to his core. Within seconds, he started feeling things were getting out of hand and the magical energy inside his body was running rampant with a force that he could not hold or control.

After about three minutes, this stopped. Nick had done this because he wanted to level up. And from the look of it, the gamble worked.

Status’

‘Nick’

‘Mage Name – Epsilon’

‘Level 14 – Prive Level Mage Advanced’

‘INT – 14.1

‘Physical Level – Prive Intermediate’

‘Magical Abilities’

‘Life Siphon – Completed.’

‘Energy Bolt – Completed.’

‘Sonic Bullet – Self-Created’

‘Poison Bullet – Self-Created’

‘Silent Bullet – Self-Created’

‘Wave Radar – Self-Created’

‘Vacuum Bomb – Self-Created’

‘Portal Teleportation – Self Created’

‘Passive Abilities’

‘Titan-Alim Blood Energy Shield (3000+ Magical Protection Bonus + 500+ Physical Defense) (Peak Provec Level Spell)

‘Magnetic Gravity Aura Shield (5000+ Passive Magical and Physical Protection Bonus/ Defence Against ‘Projectiles, Ghosts and Unnatural Things’ +1000) (Magister Level Spell)

Nick did not expect his powers to increase like this at all. He was almost a Prive Level Peak mage now, a step away from breaking through to become a Provec Level mage. The thing that affected him the most, however, was the levels of his spells.

Especially the ‘Magnetic Gravity Aura Shield’.

The Titanium Shield was a Peak Provec Level spell. Not that this was a surprise for Nick but this vindicated that it was good enough for the large majority of situations Nick was likely to encounter.

The Magnetic Gravity Aura Shield, though, was a completely different story. The spell itself was classified at Magister level. Nick was yet to encounter a ‘Magister’ himself but if he were to guess, most likely the Werfur Race – Anderium leader would be at this level.

He was not sure what kind of power this level held but considering the defensive power of the Magnetic and Gravity Shield alone, it must almost be mind-numbing. He can only imagine the kind of supremacy that Magister mages would command.

Right now, as a Prive Level Advanced, he would not last even a second against a being or a mage that was at Magister level. Even if he used all his power, his only chance to survive would be to use the pen that the Void Hunter Rat called Ravia gifted him. Reminded of him, Nick wondered if he would be stronger than a Magister level being.

Nick took a deep breath and then closed his status.

He turned to inspect the Anubite. It seemed that ‘Summon Anubite’ was stripped away from Nick’s current ‘Status’ section. Not that he would not be able to use the Anubites any longer, but he thought that if he was going to summon these creatures, he needed to upgrade them. At their current Imper Level 2, they had no power against the threats that lived in these islands.

Any one of the creatures he had seen at the Big Green Tree Island could take out five or maybe even 10 of them with ease. And most likely Nick himself needed more than 30 Anubites to take on just one of them. As for the Forest Lady of Beast, he probably needed more than 100 Anubites.

A creature at that level was not helping him other than making him expend mana or for detection purposes.

Nick let out a cold breath and opened the Anubite’s algorithm.

Spell Name: ‘Summon Anubite’

‘Sacrifice’

‘Magical Energy’

‘Knowledge of Anubite’

‘Anubites are spawns of Anubis – the God of Death in Egyptian mythology.’

‘Anubites are similar to Anubis in their looks.’

‘Anubites are sickle-wearing, jackal-headed creatures, standing at 9 feet or 270 cm of height.’

‘Anubites have a special ability called ‘Anubite Jump’ that lets them jump 500 meters forward and 100 meters high.”

‘Scientific name — Pholax Cynopolis’

‘We, known as the Jackals, the Priests of Anubis, are guardians of their glorious tombs or their humble graves. We are the keepers of the dead. We are the servants of Anubis. We are Cynopolis.’ — Chapter of the Dead, Book of Ma’at.

Nick went over the algorithm, and then without wasting any time, he smiled and started writing. This time, he did not add ‘Imagination’ or ‘Knowledge’ or ‘Rule’. Instead, he added a new section altogether. He called this ‘Speciality’ as ‘Fantasia’.

Nick then proceeded to add details in this new section.

‘Fantasia’

‘Anubite will have an energy called ‘Death’ energy’

‘Death Energy can be used in defensive or offensive situations.’

After he added ‘Death Energy’ to the ‘Fantasia’ section, he needed contextual ‘Knowledge’ to improve the creatures he summoned even further. This was because even though Nick created and added the ability to use ‘Death Energy’, the algorithm itself did not know what was ‘Death’ or ‘Death Energy’.

Nick needed to specify this for the ‘Summon Anubite’ spell. This was an idea he had after gathering experience from the different spells he had created so far.

The logic here was that if he wanted to create ‘Golden Wings’ on himself or anything else, he would add ‘Golden Wings’ by adding it to the ‘Fantasia’ section. Then, once he knew what he wanted to create, he had to add the corresponding knowledge for this to be activated.

For example, in the case of ‘Golden Wings’, he needed to add the knowledge of ‘Gold’ and ‘Wings’. This was the basic principle he had to replicate in other cases.
