Chapter 47: Surprisingly easy~!

The tension in the air was so thick Eel felt like she could likely cut it – she tightly clenched the spear in her right hand while her left hand rested the blade on her shoulder. She couldn’t help but bite her lip softly while hearing a constant beating. This beating was like the drums of war singling the start of a battle of epic proportions. This beating, though, was her very own attempting to jump out of her chest.

It wasn’t fully due to her nervousness or excitement but rather she was already making use of high-leveled blood manipulation. By flowing her blood at an increased pace she could do something similar to overclocking but for her own body; pushing her body to the absolute limit then a bit beyond while a bloodmist left through her pours. The issues with it were a decrease in lifespan due to the long term damage it was wrecking on the body… But since when did a Mendax bloodline need to worry about lifespan; they were born without limits!

Essentially she got to double her physical stats with no cost other than mana!

Eel stood on the back of the speeding carriage with Emily wrapping her arms around her waist, burying her little face into the crook of Eel’s neck with the only sign of her being alive being the occasional worried ‘moos’ that escaped from her. Her own body glowed with a purple light that spread out and entered into Eel to push her skills to the maximum potential. Eel’s eyes now have a pure gray background with a blood red rim before a golden slit pupil appeared in the center to leave no sign of her normal coloured eyes. Her eyes glowing vividly within the shadowy forest as she glared into said forest’s depths to try to catch a sign of the monster that sent her flying.

She just wanted to get this whole thing over with and move onto the fun adventuring part of the journey!

Luckily Jeeves seemed to want the same as it didn’t take long for him to leap out the forest with his sword raised high – with her skills raised to the maximum she found it easy to see his figure when he was attacking. It was as if his bones grew five extra feet stretching & tearing his flesh due to them not having the same luxury. It was quite the horrifying look that wasn’t helped by his black bones with crimson cracks spewing bloodrest flames from them; screaming faces of various races appearing and vanishing constantly from within the flame just like it did for his aura.

Jeeves’ deformed form seemed to be more fitting with his massive stone executioner’s sword which he slashed downward in an attempt to cut the ‘little’ carriage in half with one devastating cut. The flames spewed from the massive sword to enhance it’s cutting effect but more importantly it’s terrifying killing effect.

Eel didn’t retreat though – instead she lifted her spear above her head while stabbing her sword into the floor – bracing her spear’s shaft with both her palms while preparing to take the slash straight in the center of her weapon. Something different happened this time as she made no moves to push the far deadlier attack to the side or attack before he could. Instead a gray glow filled herself and the weapon as the blade crashed down and… Did nothing.

The blade just hit the spear causing a gush of wind that would’ve sent Emily flying if not for her hugging the unmoving Eel – Eel’s lips slowly curled up into a cheeky grin and she soon had them apart.

“Seems you weren’t able to even push me back – I guess you’re weaker than a {Giant Green Lizard} then aren’t you fufufu~?” <Eel>

That smug grin stayed on her face as she lifted her foot up to connect with Jeeves’ torso just as he had done to her mere moments prior but this time he was the one who found himself flying backwards. If it was a straight up fight she may have been easily dodged but Jeeves’ ego got the better of him so he had no footing to even dodge with since he was midair!

Even still he let go of that massive blade letting it fall away from him but with the gauze wrapped around her wrist keeping him attached. He made use of this by gripping the gauze before swinging it in Eel’s direction which of course took the massive sword along with it thanks to his strength. Eel calmly responded by tilting her body backwards before leaping off the roof of the carriage – letting her & Emily’s bodies skim over that massive blade as it swung below with a confident grin plastered on her face.

Doing a full backflip.

She wasn’t done there though

Moving her right hand away from the spear’s grasp she gripped onto empty space which soon formed a javelin made from light. Spreading out her stance and holding the Javelin over her head the gray energy began to form again but this time focused on that spear – quickly throwing it, it shot forward so fast it left a trail of dust behind itself that soon connected with the torso of Jeeves. From there it exploded into an explosion of white that completely lit up the gloomy forest as if it were a mid summer in a desert.

“Jehehehe~! I suppose you’re not quite ripe yet if you need to rely on her to help you so I’ll let you off for now…” <Jeeves>

Even then the beast called Jeeves had very little reaction to the powerful blow it received to the chest as it laughed – nobody else could see but Eel did. The spear never even pierced his broken flesh let alone but the momentum from it did succeed in sending him flying further back than her kick alone managed. She was happy with this and kept her grin as all she wanted to do was send him backwards; she held no belief she could beat him by herself but with a little help from her adorable cow this much was possible!

After awhile on waiting though Jeeves surprisingly kept to his words as he never reappeared leading to a very short exchanging of blows where Eel won. This of course made the little Dragon more than happy.

“Fufufu~ and so the great Hero once again beats the crook with her overwhelming power~!” <Eel>

“Yay~…” <Emily>

The two mini-lovers threw their hands up into the air with joy as the light at the end of the forest soon appeared as they soon parted with that hellish place to come out atop a bank overlooking a larger than average village with some simple fortifications. This was no doubt the halfway point they were waiting for an the place where they would pick up both information and quests so it was hard for the two little’ins to not jump for joy as they stood atop the carriage (which had seen better days) looking down on the village.

Compared to the previous village there was far more movement both in and out as quite a few people in low-quality armor ran around the plains chasing Horned Rabbits or looking out for the odd medical herb. Eel couldn’t help but feel nostalgic when she saw some youngsters filtering through the grass on hands and feet to find herbs. Some people with more impressive armour even walked further out to where some boars or wolves may reside; Eel wasn’t as interested in them. For them killing a pack of wolves was a week’s worth of bronze but for her it was Tuesday’s meal.

It wasn’t like there were that many people if compared to a major city like Shanta but compared to the other villages they’d been to it could be said to be very busy – as if the war had no effect on this village that was so far out. The five of them also couldn’t get over the sharp change in environment. From running for their lives to peacefully looking over some rookie adventurers dancing around in the mud.

“Did that… Happen?” <Tom>

“What happen?” <Lyada>

“You know, being chased down by that monster after escaping from a den of band-” <Tom>

“I don’ remember anything like that. We just peaceful made our way here after getting along with ya and jumping on.” <Fuka>

“But-” <Tom>

“There is only one village between here and Shanta. It was pretty peaceful there if a bit tense due to being near war time but I certainly think ya are going a bit far calling them bandits.” <Fuka>

“I… Right, there is only one village.” <Tom>

While the three up front were having that conversation Eel walked up to sit behind them – not even bringing up the fact that Emily was still snuggling with her. Her boosts had already run their course so she had returned back to normal. Even the short boost from the Dreamer had already vanished for now; her just lifting her hand to her mouth and waving it softly as she yawned.

“*Yawn* So what are we going to do for now?” <Eel>

“I want to go on a date…” <Emily>

With that Emily moved from Emily’s neck to kiss her cheek softly – red appearing on the cows cheeks while her lazy eyes gazed at Eel pleadingly. Eel just smiled at her warmly leading to Emily turning her gaze towards Fuka who instantly felt the gaze on the back of her head. Flinching she slowly spun her head around to gaze back at the Cow as she gave a helpless smile.

“Eel is the party leader and I certainly have no issues with taking a break after… That.” <Fuka>

She needs dick to destress and she needs it BADLY.

Emily happily moo’d softly while swaying back and forth while hanging off Eel; causing the dragon to smile happily while the cow looked towards the streets. Scoping it out to see where she wanted to visit and what she wanted to do. Eel just chuckled softly while letting off another yawn.
