The entire street instantly went silent – not a single sound could be heard as only the gentle whistling of the southern winds could be heard. Not only did it go silent but everything also seemed to stop. As if some Faux God had wandered through while deciding they were bored, froze time for a second to do some sort of prank. In this case though it was a grumpy dragon who was beginning to get sick of all these humans spouting their superiority – their shouting wasn’t even that fearsome as a territorial roar!
It had too many shifts. It was more efficient just to put all your power behind a single intimidating bellow if you were going to try to intimidate something; yet ‘human norms’ had to make even that overly complicated. She enjoyed it though. Humans were more complicated than beasts like her which took her awhile to get used to but over the years she finally figured something out.
Humans were fun.
They were hypocritical, irrational, self-centred and often biassed.
But they were fun because they were so impossibly dumb as a species. Which other species fought each other as much as they did? In hindsight she perfectly understood why Mother ruled the world as she did. If she let humans have access to too advanced technology and the older powers didn’t have enemies to unite against… They would likely destroy themselves! In her opinion, giving them magic was already pushing it. Luckily Violet’s Demons and Munzumira’s spirits were far more powerful.
Honestly it was kind of funny that humans compared themselves to demons when they’ve only seen the weakest of the weak. They even considered a vampire from the Bloodleaf bloodline – the original bloodline from which all vampires descended – a realm level threat that they couldn’t do anything about… Though this made her upset.
The reason was because she still hadn’t fully unlocked her bloodline despite realising that not only did she have the amazing bloodline of Mother… She had the bloodline of Violet mixed with Bloodleaf’s pure bloodline. She could be said to be on the level of the purest of pure blood vampires yet; the first generation under the ancestor of all vampires. But yet she could hardly use any of it because her dragon’s side acted like a gateway.
When she fully unlocked her dragon bloodline she’d be able to quickly increase in power to make her current self look like a mortal to a dragon. Yet until she did she only got these rudimentary abilities that hardly represented her vampire/fox half.
Letting out a long sigh she looked down at the human who had been knocked out cold by her one movement – blood leaking from the sides of his mouth and nose – she would simply let him go. After knocking him out she wouldn’t even consider him anymore as she began to rub her neck with her hand before cracking her neck to fully end the ‘time freeze’.
As those in the surroundings finally came to terms with the sudden scene the first thing they did was glare at the girl who just chokeslammed ‘one of their own’ into the ground. The first to actually speak up were his party/friends of course. It took no time at all for the remaining three to surround poor little Eel with their rusty daggers pointed toward her.
“Y-you bitch, you just killed Tim.” <E-Rank 1>
“He shouldn’t be dead and if he is then he should blame himself for being arrogant on my bad day. Never mess with a girl on her bad day fufufu~!” <Eel>
“Urgh, let’s just show her what’s what!” <E-Rank 2>
“W-wait!” <E-Rank 1>
“Nah, let’s just attack her together to see what she can do!” <E-Rank 3>
The two in front of her both tried to attack her by simply running right at her with their knives held in front of themselves. She didn’t enjoy bullying people but comparing herself to others her age… Only now she realised how amazing she actually was if this was the best they could manage.
She simply just reached out and grabbed their wrist while pushing them down causing the two fools to stumble for a bit. The one on the left (no.2) fell flat on their face while their knife safely slammed into the floor. Couldn’t have them accidentally hurting themselves!
The other (no.3) managed to stay on their feet but still stumbled away from her. She simply did the most obvious move; tilting backwards to initiate a backflip with her final destination being the back of the hunched over no.3. The boy could hardly lift a short sword let alone the full weight of the mini dragon so they were the next to touch the dirt.
Abruptly though the first made a move and also charged towards Eel with his knife raised – his face was that of anxiousness and anger though. Eel made no real move to dodge it which quickly raised fear into the boy as the blade was pushed against Eel’s flesh before he could stop himself. As soon as that happened he jumped away with tears in his eyes.
“S-” <E-Rank 1>
Then a foot came up and sent a rotating kick across their cheek which sent them flying. The knife was far too low quality to even pierce Eel’s clothing let alone her skin which was far tougher than that of the leather of the four. That was even if one was to stack all the leather on their bodies (which was mostly just a chestplate with the leader having some wrist guards even though it made more sense in Eel’s mind to get lower armour since they were fighting small monsters). After finishing this all some new guests appeared – unlike previously these were no kids though… These were actual middle-aged men who had experience killing things other than little rodents and the odd snake.
They were a group of four with beards or stubble and clear signs of age upon their exposed faces. As veterans they weren’t the type to have long hair leading to them having a mixture of shaven, short or bald heads. They were also clearly far more intimidating than a bunch of kids on account of that & that they were far bigger.
Not only were they far taller as adult men but had muscular frames and they even had far better equipment. The most obvious was their metal swords and shields; they weren’t a super balanced party with a mage and archer etc. yet they were ‘good enough’ for their ranking since all they needed to do was swing the sharp end at wild animals.
Unlike the ‘armour’ of the kids they had quality leather with a metal breast plate covering their vitals. The leader who was walking in front with a stubble and short hair even had metal around his thighs and upper arms. This clearly showed they were no low income group like the kids as metal was very expensive – more so out in the middle of nowhere like this large village. People of their strength were indeed rare in any village but…
Eel already factored them into her guesstimate.
“Well hello there, what is happening he-” <Field Forgers Leader>
Eel, who still had a certain Viole(n)t individual’s blood coursing through her due to recent stressful situations, instantly initiated a flash step right under the party leader’s chin.
Literally.
Shooting up she delivered a terrifying flying uppercut onto the poor man’s chin making his teeth clash mid sentence with a terrifying *CLACK* while his head was sent backwards and after a second the rest of his body followed as the air he managed to get was impressive. When he finally landed he was already out cold while blood leaked out from his gums due to the terrifying tremor sent through his head.
The most obvious damage however was a faint burn mark of her little first on his chin. A few seconds after he landed he proceeded to cough up a bunch of glowing purple embers that still flared up in his literally boiling blood showing that his internal damage was far more extensive than it initially looked. A savage grin on her face as faint purple flames flickered around her limbs while little nubs softly grew on her head. They were far from noticeable as most people were still in shock that a little girl just oneshot their strongest adventurer.
They were about to get more shocked though as she was far from done as she charged head first to the single merc on her right; launching a punch right at his gut. The devastating blow easily punctured right through his leather and connected with his soft flesh causing him to reel in pain while spitting out blood and anything else in his gut. From there she pivoted backwards on her left heel as a simple iron sword barely missed her and she was separated from the man as his other companion dragged him aside before she could follow up.
Though she did follow up in another way… By punching the sword.
The force in which she punched the sword caused the man’s fingers to snap while the blade itself made a cracking noise despite no clear signs of it breaking… Well that was until it turned into molten iron dust from the inside out. While the man was still stunned her second fist passed over her first to land directly on the adventurers knee – sending him falling forward. From there she pivoted on her foot again to have her hand grip the back of his head and slam it into the dirt with a thud.
With a savage grin she looked towards the last member standing who was nervously standing over one who was currenting vomiting out his guts. But before she could do anything a gently and drowsy voice entered her ears instantly calming her violent battlelust.
“I’m bored of this…” <Emily>
“Yes my princess~.” <Eel>
And with that they headed out the village with everyone else having more questions than answers.
