The border line that connects Pluto with Kharon is dense with the evacuating refugees. A quite long queue has been formed at the open area this winter. However, this queue is still much shorter than the queue of refugees at the Siren border.
But that’s not actually the reason why Stairmount chooses to flee to Kharon. The problem of distance becomes the most important reason. Although Sapphire is located at the border area of Pluto, but its neighbor country is unfortunately Neptune. While other safe countries are located very far from Sapphire, the farthest is Siren. Surprisingly, Siren becomes the main destination for refugees. Perhaps because it is the only border country of Pluto which is included in Nature Continent, same with Pluto, so Pluto’s citizens feel safe by evacuating there.
“But I don’t want to go to the countries included in Nature Continent since Jupiter will find it easier to search for us there. While Kharon is not included in Nature Continent. Chrono or other Jupiter organizations or armies have to ask permission with complicated procedures if they want to do a seeking there. Just to find three ordinary people then they have to do such troublesome things, it’ll make them reluctant to do that. By then, Siren is the safest place for us to flee.”
Daphne stares at Stairmount, a twinkle of admiration flashes from her eyes. “You are very brilliant at doing analysis, Sir…”
“Ah, about this, whoever has worked in an organization like Chrono for a long time will get this way of thinking for certain.”
Apparently, Stairmount thinks that what Daphne just does is no more than praising him, by then he gives her that humble reply. He doesn’t realize that Daphne really admires him. From the beginning, Daphne has been in awe of him since he is the citizen of the superpower country Jupiter, an automatic instinct possessed by those who live in a less developed country. But her admiration reaches its peak when Stairmount saved her life that night. Her inner conscience has been touched as she witnessed the extraordinary courage of a person against dozens of professional armed forces. And her admiration peaks as she finds out the true identity of Stairmount. For God’s sake, he’s a Chrono member, it’s more than enough to make every girl fall in awe with him. He’s definitely not just anyone, yet he is willing to risk everything to save me… it’s more than enough to make me fall in awe of him, right?…
Not. He doesn’t just save me. I am only one of those who he saves. He actually saves the ethnic Neptunians who become the genocide targets. Ouch! How can I have such a selfish mind?!…
Stairmount picks something out of his pocket, which immediately expands as it is struck with the air. A bag. He reaches into the bag, then begins to pull out a strange set of items.
“But still, we should be cautious. We never know about the way of enemy’s thinking. So, to cross the border safely, we must use disguises.”
Stairmount flicks a wig and make-up on Daphne. “You’d better change your appearance so as not to arouse suspicion. Wear this wig.” He holds out a short, periwinkle violet wig to Daphne.
“This wig is so short, like a man’s hair,” Daphne comments.
“Yes, you will indeed disguise yourself as a man.”
“But my face is a woman’s face, it will still be found out.”
Stairmount pulls out some boxes, which turn out to be make-up kits. But this is different from the ordinary make-up tool. “Of course, you have to change your face and disguise yourself as a real man. Use this.”
“Sir… how do you get such fancy stuff?…”
“It seems that I shouldn’t regret my choice by entering Chrono. From there, I’ve got lots of super-advanced tools. Including this method of disguise.”
Not only that technological sophistication he can do as a member of Chrono and because of that he then owns privileged access. What he will do next is even more incredible, which is impossible for just anyone to do without special access support.
“We’re going to cover up based on this following data,” Stairmount shows its ultra-cyber minipad screen which now displays the sheets of three passport frontpages. “Here’s the list of people I manage to get. Daphne, you’ll disguise as a man; Ma’am, you’ll still be a woman, yet the age is much older.”
Daphne keeps a close eye on the disguises and the passport’s front pages. “Wow… I feel like I’m in a movie…”
“Don’t think it is the same with movies. This is reality. We have to be vigilant, not doing jokes,” Mrs. Yalle warns. She herself now takes the make-up equipment automatically, thus begins to disguise her daughter. Daphne herself, also quickly turns serious, and she remains silent as her mother masks her.
Neptunian-Plutonian women are apparently very mature and responsive, unlike the Jupiterian women, especially those from the upper classes who are used to living happily and therefore become less mature, Stairmount thinks as he observes Mrs. Yalle who is now busy disguising her daughter. He himself takes out a long straight, slipper-pink ballet hair wig, and after putting it on his head, he thus starts to make up his own face.

It doesn’t take a long time to disguise. Daphne disguises herself as a man, while Stairmount becomes a woman. Daphne just needs to make up her face and needn’t worry about her height because Plutonian men are the same height as women. About Mrs. Yalle, she just needs to add wrinkles on her face and more white in her hair.
“Now it’s just a matter of finding a tablet maker.” The tablet Stairmount means is, on this Planet, the passport is in the shape of tablet. Having transformed into a Pluto woman, Stairmount approaches the flying car. “I’m going to town for a while. Both of you, just wait here.”
“But, Sir…” Daphne is actually about to say that she wants to accompany him, but Stairmount has cut her off.
“City isn’t a safe place. At least if I go alone, I’ll be the only one in danger.”
“But, we don’t want you to be in danger!…”
“Then what can you do with your accompanying?” Stairmount’s sharp words make Daphne speechless. “Just stay in here. By doing those things all by myself then I will be freer to make a move. Just take care of your mother. No worries, don’t be scared, I will try to return as soon as possible.”
“Y… yes, Sir…” Hesitantly, Daphne lets go of the Stairmount to leave. “Be careful, Sir…” She bites her lip. Thus, staring at Stairmount who is now getting into the flying car. She keeps staring at him, until the car has been out of her sight.
