“BAM”
The stack of paper started to fall like snow-flakes, rushing from side to side are people quickly pacing around and shouting across the floor to get information across with a moment’s notice.
The only place that showed a contrast was the corner office, it was quiet but the tension in the air was suffocating.
The head of the police department look at Aiden with despise, he interlock his finger and gave a smile that look as genuine as possible to hide his emotion of displeasure
Aiden stood in attention awaiting for the next order.
“Detective Aiden, I know you just came back from an OPs but we need you for something that is straight up your alley.”
“May I Inquire what it is, sir.”
The head of the police department suddenly popped a vein near his temple as he could feel the frustration. He squeeze his finger harder to calm himself
“Detective, you’re smart enough to know the answer, Do not patronize me by wasting my time.”
Aiden scoffed at the Head of police department reply. Continue with his act by being ignorant
The head of police department slowly turn red from as he continue to see how Aiden was being ignorant till it started to be able to see at the top of his head before he started roaring at Aiden.
“DETECTIVE AIDEN, IS THIS A JOKE TO YOU. MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN GOING MISSING LATELY OR DYING DUE TO THE RISE OF MURDER AND KIDNAPPING CASE. YOU NEED TO STOP PLAYING AROUND AND START YOUR INVESTIGATION.”
Aiden finally felt satisfied after seeing the head of the police department POP from anger.
“Yes sir, I will do my best in the investigation. Also sir, it’s not healthy for you to be angry at your age.”
Aiden walk out with a triumph face as he take pride in being the only that can make the head of police department
A loud smack could be heard coming from Aiden. Aiden was suddenly facing down on the floor. Behind him was a middle aged guy smoking his cigarette and holding a file.
“Captain , why did you smack me with the file?”
Vic just sighs in disappointment.
“Aiden I know that you love to do stuff your way, and because you are very talented in investigation the Police head of department allows you to behave however you want. But still, there is a limit. Show some restraint.”
“Yes captain! By the way, why are you here instead of doing your own investigation?”
“I’m here to pass you your next work, as this case is more alarming than the rest.”
Aiden’s eyes started to sparkle from the work that he was presented with. Vic just looks at Aiden with disbelief. He thought to himself that Aiden is professional when it comes to his work but when he is not, he is just practically a goofball.
“ Is there anything you need to tell you before I leave Aiden?”
Aiden shook his head and just grabbed the file out of and started to read whatever is in the case file. Absorb in his thoughts, Aiden continued his work without much rest. He suddenly stop as he read the most recent case related to the missing person.

[This is the most recent case? Did the killer just go on a hiatus?]
Aiden just scratched his head in confusion, he seemed somewhat lost from the information he got.
[Did they just put everyone that went missing from this city together, if that was the case it might take a bit longer to find out what is going on.”
Aiden immediately pounced to action. He sorted out all the cases by category to streamline his thought process to get a better insight on what is going on. Not an ounce of energy is wasted, not even the loud environment could break his concentration.
[most of them actually went missing with the same characteristic. Someone definitely has something to do with it. While the minority is just people that just disappear due to debt.]
“Captain, permission to go down to the city to do some investigation.”
Vic was caught off guard by Aiden due to how fast he managed to come to a conclusion with such little evidence.
“Can you at least report to me what you found so I could report to the head of the police department.”
“I can only say that the kidnapper is going after females, and at the age around 19 to 23. Other than that most of them are speculation that I will need to confirm on ground.”
“Speculation is also fine, just tell me everything. You could confirm with me again during the investigation.”
“ I assume the person that kidnapped the victim is still in the city due to the fact that there is always a 3 to 4 week break in between each of the kidnapping cases. Although for some reason I could not figure out the reason for the kidnapping, I assume to entertain his or her boredom once the old one dies .”
Vic nodded in silence and thoroughly processed the information that was given to him.
“ Are you saying the kidnapper has a high chance of being a serial killer too?”
“Most likely considering his doing it as a routine every month.”
Vic immediately understood the gravity of the situation, if this was another detective that gave him the same conclusion as Aiden he would push it to one side as overactive imagination. But this was a prodigy detective who managed to solve many cold cases. That’s how heavy Aiden words hold.
“ I understand, I will give you permission to investigate the city right now. The rest of the report I will relay it to the Head of the police department.”
Aiden salutes to captain Vic and heads out for the city. All Aiden could do was smile in excitement. He wondered what kind of person would commit such a hideous crime for him to enjoy.
