In the city of Vroston, people are suffering from a curse that absorbs the mana from them, including the nobles. When the king noticed this, he ordered the knights to search for any clues regarding this issue, but nothing came to light. As a result, the king arranged a meeting with the household to discuss this issue. I, as a royal knight, along with General Patricia, went to the meeting.
The king addressed everyone, stating that the curse absorbing mana from people posed a great danger to the kingdom. He mentioned that even holy magic couldn’t remove this curse, and information from the guild revealed that it also affected the monsters in the great forest. The king declared that immediate action needed to be taken.
Following this, General Patricia spoke and reported that despite searching the entire city, they couldn’t find the source of the curse. There was a strange aura surrounding the city, and they couldn’t determine its origin. Additionally, they were unable to communicate with other kingdoms due to the damaged communication system. The general also mentioned that the knights and army were losing their mana, making them weaker. A team was sent to search the entire kingdom to find out the cause of all these issues.
After the general spoke, the Witch of Vroton addressed the king. he mentioned that she found information regarding the curse in a great library; however, it didn’t help in identifying the culprit. he explained that the curse was caused by a sacrificial item that absorbed mana from the people and limited the power in the surrounding area. he also stated that the king’s blood protected them from the curse. he advised against revealing this information to the people, as it could lead to panic, and shared a legend about powerful monsters that attacked the city every 200 years, which ended when the king’s ancestors defeated them. he assured everyone that they should not worry about this legend.
Following the discussion, the priest assured the group that the people were in good health, with their mana being slowly absorbed over time. He warned that if mana fell into the wrong hands, it could lead to something more dangerous, as recorded in the journal of Sico.
After the president mentioned it, the king asked the economists about any changes in the market. They responded, “My king, after observing the current market, we have not observed any changes. It seems to be stable, my king.”
After everyone spoke, the general asked if we should seek help from someone outside of our kingdom, as the guild adventurers were also weakening. After the general gave his opinion on this, the witch also agreed. He mentioned that the neighboring kingdom is far away, and if we were to send someone there, it would take 10 days to reach due to our non-functional teleportation devices and magic, which is caused by a mysterious aura. While searching nearby, we stumbled upon the cursed mountain, which brought sudden silence among the ministers and the king. I was surprised by the silence, and the king mentioned that it was time to call him, although I was unaware of who “him” was. The silence intrigued me as they never discussed this name before but only mentioned that he could help in this situation. According to the kingdom’s history, the verse goes like this, “When there is a danger that threatens the kingdom, you must call him, he may help you.” The king and general are the only ones who have seen him before.
So the king ordered the general to go and find him and tell the situation to him.
