As always, thanks to all my readers for sticking with me this far.
So this is the part where I make predictions regarding completion of this tale. They are never accurate, but I make them anyway.
Volume 12 will, of course, not be the final volume. I already said so, going into the volume, but that’s what I predicted going into chapter 500.
The question is, will it be a long Volume 13, or two somewhat shorter volumes, before the end? I’m going to say a long Volume 13, because if I go with volume 14, I will for sure jinx myself and not be done even then.
Although I can’t imagine how that could happen. As Keima in “The World God Only Knows” likes to say, I can see the ending. Of course, I’ve known what it was for a while, but I have a significantly shorter path between here and there now. Even with my terrible lack of skill at estimating how many words certain elements will require, it’s hard to see it taking too much.
Actually, in the past, I did not know what Tiana would choose in the denouement, between two potential endings, but this was about a matter which made no difference to resolving the ultimate big struggle. It only affected how I would wrap the novel up.
What was the big choice? That would be a spoiler, sorry. But you’ll recognize it when you see it. I’ll introduced the options before the last big push, and she will make her decision after it’s done.
So, IRL, we’ve now had more than five years of Tiana. It’s been too long, largely because I stayed at one chapter per week for far too long. Although I’m currently again doing one chapter per week, this time will be only for the month of May, then I will return to two.
It remains quite a journey, and I thank everyone who has stuck with it. Of course, as I mentioned before, the journey will continue, picking up several years later with Tiana as a background character but not the MC. I just snuck back and deleted the information in my ‘Chapter D’ post about which of her daughters is the MC, because I decided to make it unclear.
If you don’t remember, too bad. If you do remember, don’t post it in the comments.
I will reaffirm though, that Kiki (and her granddaughters) will also play a part.
I will publish that book slowly. I want to keep it shorter than the main book, and to do so, I need to write carefully. It will probably come out at a chapter a week, once I start, which will not be immediately upon wrapping up the main story. Not sure how long the delay will be, between main story and sequel, but probably not too long. I want to concentrate on another story once the Tiana story is done, though, so my multi-chapter-per-week rate will be devoted to that.
