Ye Jian turned her head with a stiffened expression. The hand that was holding onto the materials clenched tighter. After pulling down the edges of her lips, she looked at him with a calm and unfazed face. “Why are you telling me that? I don’t need to know that.”
The smile on the edges of his lips deepened while Xia Jinyuan gave her a casual glance. After a low chuckle, he switched the topic, “Let’s not talk about that now. Give me your documents and go ahead to the board room. Our comrades should also be there. We need to meet up with them.”
Playful, huh…, he needs to correct that. How can he leave a playful image on her? He was actually the most serious man there.
The board room was silent, the staff members and the security team maintained absolute silence. Even if they needed to communicate about work-related stuff, they still communicate with whispers so they wouldn’t bother them.
Ye Jian thought that there was no need for inspections when she had arrived in the boardroom. However, when two security members, who wore bloodlust in their gazes, blocked their path forward, only then did she realize how tight the security measures were when a leader was about to go overseas.
Xia Jinyuan opened the black briefcase that he had kept in his hand. What’s inside weren’t documents, but it was a briefcase gun that was developed for covert policemen. The trigger and safety could be manipulated by an interlocking mechanism at the briefcase’s handle, and the gun could be fired inside the briefcase.
All of the ammunition and firearms had formal documents with them. After the security guard had inspected everything, they made sure the personal documents were from the real deal, and only then were they allowed entry.
That was the last checkpoint. After that there was no need to go through anymore inspections.
The atmosphere inside the board room was relatively solemn. When a couple of airport staff noticed the two of them walking in, they lowered their heads while flipping through the folder inside their hands. A male worker walked towards them with muffled footsteps, “Hello, please hold onto your boarding passes.”
Ye Jian received the boarding pass that was passed to her and thanked him. She lowered her head and took a glance, then, she asked Xia Jinyuan, “Are we sitting together?” Although this was her first time sitting in a plane, she was still able to understand where her seat was and which cabin her seat was located in.
“Nope, I’m in Economy class while you will be in Business Class, sitting alongside the head leader.” Xia Jinyuan’s slender finger tapped on the boarding pass she held, he smiled: “All of the accompanying staff will be in economy. Only a translator that is going to be communicating with the foreign tower, an escort doctor and an administrator will be in Business class alongside you.”
The two of them conversed while walking. The Elite Platoon members J5, G3 and K3 walked out from their separate corners. When they saw Ye Jian, all three of them walked towards the duo with raised eyebrows while a smile was hanging off their faces.
Ye Jian was acquainted with the three of them and it was when they appeared that Ye Jian suddenly realized something. She whispered to Xia Jinyuan: “Even you guys were mobilized. Why does it feel like… many things are going to happen after leaving the country?”
“It’s going to be hard to say. A country that had just experienced war… bullets and tanks that have been destroyed by missiles can be seen everywhere on the streets. Even if something really happened, it would be hard to say.” Xia Jinyuan replied with a careless smile, then spoke to her: “Why else would we need a special student to stay by the leader’s side? Little fox, your responsibilities are greater than all of us.”
They spoke with soft tones and only the two of them could hear it. Hearing that, Ye Jian’s heart was determined, her expression had unexpectedly become much more leisurely. “Is that so? That’s why even the itinerary of this visit was kept secret. I think the country still doesn’t know about it, right?”
“You’ve only just realized that?”
“Was that something I could have thought about?” Ye Jian shot a meaningful glance at him, then she noticed J5 hastening his steps. He looked extremely graceful yet capable in his black suit, even his hairstyle was changed to something that was much more suited to the image of an administrative worker.
