Maynard's summer holidays are going as he expects: Drinks, friends, and hours staying up playing his current MMO of choice - Silent City. It's only when he receives a unique item within the game that his life quickly spirals out of control, leaving him at the mercy of a godlike being.

At the behest of this being he is sent into a world that he recognises, and must escape from threats that hide within the very shadows of where he steps. Left worlds away from home he is sure of only two things - first, he must find a way back, and second, that he is not alone.
