Devil’s Advocate 7

Bartholomew heard something on his doorsteps. He got up from his bead then unlocked the door. The roll near his feet brought some questions in his mind, but he picked it up, regardless.
“What is it?” Isolda asked him.
“A roll.” Bartholomew replied.
“Let me see.” Isolda said, unrolling it.
She read everything written on it with red eyes. Bartholomew knew he was in trouble when her horns glowed.
“This is a letter from your girlfriend.” She puffed smoke out of her nostrils.
“I don’t have any girlfriend other than you.” Bartholomew mumbled, “This must have come to a wrong address. I will sue Devils’ Mail Inc.”
“But it has your name in it.” She showed him the name.
“I swear I am not cheating you.”
“I know.” she said.
She surprised him by saying so. He wanted to say things, but no appropriate word came to his dried mouth.
“This letter says you to meet her in near Black Cube.” She threw it on floor, “You stay here and I will go there to see how true this thing is.”
Then she went for the place mentioned in the letter.
