Chapter 20: Forlan’s Identity

Karas couldn’t help but chuckle at the old man: “There are still more, help yourselves with it.”

Hearing this, the grandpa remembered that Karas was in front of them, he calmed himself with a few coughs, let go of the teacup, and placed it back on top of the table.

“Ten, just sit, stop standing there like a log.”

Seeing him acting like that, Karas smiled: “This… isn’t it too late to act like that now?”

The old man smiled wryly with a flushed face before coughing a few times: “Right, I forgot to introduce myself, I’m Aquisor Forlan, and this is my grandson, Aquisor Arten.”

“Nice meeting you, I’m Karas, just an ordinary person.” Karas introduced with a smile.

Forlan was quite astounded by Karas’s manners, but if the other person does not wish to say anything about him, it’s not in any way for him to say anything about it: “Truth be told, I’m quite enchanted by this tea of yours, do you mind sharing what its name is and where you bought it?”

As he spoke, Forlan looked at the cylinder tea container, it’s exquisite as a full white tiger is carved on it, he immediately concluded that it’s the tea that they were drinking.

Karas didn’t know how to answer for a while, he sipped half a mouthful of tea before placing his cup down: “I’ve found it on a random place, in an abandoned location near the Juriyun Empire.”

“As for the price, I have not known about it yet and haven’t made a research on it, but as for the name, it’s called Empyrean Warm Tea.”

Karas said he didn’t know the price of it, but he had some estimation, based on the system’s estimation, it costs around 24,000 gis.

But the old man’s eyes shook slightly: “Empyrean?”

Karas nodded from the question: “Yes, there was a tablet it was placed on, it’s called the Empyrean Warm Tea, I tried to bring along the tablet but it broke into tiny unidentified pieces.”

Hearing it, the old man’s body shook further.

Karan noticing it couldn’t help but think: ‘Is he having a stroke or something? It’ll definitely be a problem if something happened to this old man in my residence.’

Noticing Karas’s eyes looking at him as a weird old man, Forlan coughed a few times ‘again’ before asking: “This… how… would you mind if I ask how many tea leaves had you used for this single teapot?”

Karas replied immediately: “Well, I asked my maid to only use one tea leaf for it, why?”

Forlan’s eyes shook again, he had been shocked more times today than he did in a year! he took the teapot and opened it, the aroma stored within the teapot suddenly assaulted his nose, making him feel like his clothes were removed and his mind completely blank for a few seconds.

“T-t-this… T-this only came from a single leaf?” Forlan stuttered seeing a single tea leaf inside with his own eyes, he had thought of something before but wasn’t sure of it till his conjecture was proven by a single tea leaf.

Karas nodded his head: “Why would I even lie.”

“I mean, you’re the one that came walking here.”

Hearing this, Forlan couldn’t help but become embarrassed as he laughed sheepishly: “Right, I apologize for that, hehehe.”

Remembering that it’s not a meeting but a place that he had barged in uninvited, Forlan felt rather thicked-faced for doubting the other party when he already treated them to a pot of tea.

Karas merely smiled, he noticed that old man Forlan merely couldn’t swallow something up.

Forlan then asked: “Right, Brother Karas, are you interested in selling these?”

Arten couldn’t believe what his grandpa was saying: ‘Grandpa, calling Karas as brother is the same as giving me a granduncle! Even grand senior of the same age!’ He couldn’t help but cover his face with his palm from pure embarrassment.

Karas became interested, he smiled: “Oh, how much do you think it’ll be worth?”

Forlan smiled: “Would you mind if I examine this tiny bit of leaf?”

Karas nodded: “Sure, go on ahead.”

Forlan smiled and without any more hesitation, he poured the tea on his and ‘Arten’s’ teacup, filling it completely once more with the leaf included in it: “Then, don’t mind if I do.”

As he spoke those words, Forlan took the tea leaf from one of them and examined it closely.

After a while, Forlan smiled: “This, I think we can make a whole bucket full of tea with a single tea leaf, not only that, it’ll still have the same taste as the one in this pot.”

Forlan smiled at Karas: “I think you can sell this tea for 50,000 gis.”

Karas was still hoping for a better price than the system, but to think that it only increased by double after all of the things that old man Forlan had said, clearly, he became quite disappointed about it.

Seeing his disappointed expression, Forlan couldn’t help but be worried: “This, how about this then, we can auction the tea, after selling some, I’ll buy a few of them from the highest price it was auctioned.”

Karas smiled wryly. He immediately shook his head: “That’s the only container of warm tea I have.”

Hearing it, Forlan couldn’t help but give up and nod his head: “Such a shame, good things are really hard to come by.”

Karas smiled: “Well, do enjoy the rest of the tea.”

Forlan smiled: “Then, you have my thanks.”

Arten this time hesitatingly joined. Forlan then started asking: “Brother Karas, what business are you in?”

Karas smiled: “Truth be told, I’m still a student, it’s just that I’ve recently been removed as an orphan and got adopted by Roan.”

Forlan smiled: “You’ve been through a lot then.”

Karas smiled but didn’t say anything in return

Karas then looked interested in Forlan, after all, people living in this place are all tycoons, he smiled and asked: “If It’s not troublesome, I’d like to inquire what elder’s business is?”

Like waiting for that question, Forlan smiled: “I’m actually in the business of antiques and auctions, well, my first business was passed down to my son, and hence, it’s merely a hobby now to pass time.”

Hearing this, Karas remembered something and asked: “Is it the Aquisor Almetal Trading?”

Forlan smiled: “Oh, so you’ve heard of it?”

Karas would be dumbed if he had not, the Aquisor Almetal Trading was the leading metal technology of steel forging, not only in the peaceful times but even when the apocalypse happened.

They were the ones that led the metal technology, using hard shells even, evolving the name to Aquisor Revolution Trading, they not only made steels, even using beast corpses for improvement as well.

In the end, they combined with a weaponry company to create the leading company that counters the beast for humanity within the Empire.

The last Karas heard was that the only remaining member of the Aquisors was the grandson, and this grandson became one of the pillars of humanity as well.

Karas’s gaze moved to Arten: ‘He must be that grandson…’

Karas smiled at Forlan: “Of course, I’d be dumb to have not heard of a business as famous as that.”

In terms of wealth, this old man Forlan is about four to five times richer than Roan himself, establishing a connection between the two companies isn’t that bad.

Based on what he knows, the Aquisor family’s business, Aquisor Almetal Trading was in the other city two hundred miles away from here, hence, forming a bridge between the two isn’t that hard or disadvantageous to any of the party.

Karas smiled: ‘It’s not really bad to help, after all, it may not only last till the apocalypse, it can even help even after that.’
