Chapter 26: Melee

Right now, a lady with a common appearance sat in a corner hiding with a pouted lip, her in game name is Pran, she paid an additional price to have her appearance altered.

Pran felt annoyed: “They said I’ll enjoy this game… enjoy the game, sure sure.”

She planned to play this game with her friends, yet, they were spread throughout the gaming world. The other four spawned at the same location, only she was left out.

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes, she was scratched by a rat earlier, but instead of screaming and crying, she immediately dashed away from the fight and hid, resulting in her current situation.

She felt the pain, but for some reason, she just didn’t feel bad about it, actually, she prayed for the pain to be completely real. For it to be able to end everything there, once and for all.

She became afraid of it growing, hence, she immediately retreated.

After a while of pondering, she just sighed, stood up, and picked a few half fist-sized stones a total of seven of them: “Hays, better die than wait here.”

She made her way out, the chaos is still there.

She then started throwing out the stones towards the dogs.

-2 HP!

“Naisu!” She exclaimed, but the dog’s agro immediately shifted to her.

Pran couldn’t help but smile wryly: “Oh shiiiiit…”

She immediately ran away.

[A wild Pran fled.]

Karas led the charge, but he’s not in the middle, he’s on the side. Getting trapped in the middle will make him lack the space to move around as well as enables him to retreat as he wants.

With Karas’s current attack, he can single hit kill a cat or rat, so long as they are unable to dodge him, he’s bound to kill one in a single-wide swing of his weapon.

As he was busy pushing his way through, a cat suddenly pounced at him, he couldn’t help but frown and swang his weapon towards it.

-7 HP!

-1 HP!

-1 HP!

Due to the unexpected attack, Karas only managed to swing his weapon in a half rotation, unable to swing it completely, causing his usually 12 damage to nearly halve.

His weapon is a blunt weapon, it has damage between 2 and 12, if you use it to pierce, its damage will be around 2 to 6, if you swing it, it’ll be 7 to 12. Depending on the momentum, wide swing, and the place it struck, it’ll display the amount it would’ve dealt.

And due to him being unable to kill a cat in a single swing, the cat attacked two times with each of its claws harming Karas, luckily, he has his gears on, else, the cat’s strike would’ve hit him for 2 HP for each swipe.

The cat still had 2 HP remaining, hence, before it could land, Karas threw an upward kick from where the cat will land and sent a punch to follow it before he himself fell on the ground.

-1 HP!

-1 HP!

Tud! He lost his balance and immediately after those last two attacks.

As he tried to stand up, he noticed two dogs pounced at him at an incredible speed: “This will hurt…” He couldn’t help but utter as he raised his hands up.

But before the two dogs managed to approach him, two shadows appeared, wielding the same weapon as his.

Bam! Bam!

The dogs were sent flying, clearly, the two tried to stand up but their legs trembled due to being hit by blunt weapons.

“Bro, we got your back!” It was none other than the two that took the other two round metal bars.

Karas smirked, he slowly stood up, his body trembling slightly, not because of any sort of pain, but due to his weight…

‘Even when my weight was decreased to half, it’s still a struggle to stand up…’ He couldn’t help but started blaming himself, truthfully, he didn’t really care about his past life, but that was that, now, it’s different.

Karas felt exhausted more from standing up than fighting and running, it’s extremely embarrassing: “Well, stop looking at me, we continue to kill!”

“KILL!”

“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”

After heaving for a bit, Karas also charged again.

The recently respawned and newly logged-in users were feeling dreadful were almost about to give up, then, they saw a few dozens, no, hundreds of people coming from the far north.

“T-this, there are people coming here!”

“Hey! They have armors already!”

“Here! Here! Saveeee ussss!”

“Kuaccck!”

“HELP!”

Some shouted with excitement while others shouted from being killed.

But of course, the monsters wouldn’t wait for them, the monsters continued to pounce, swipe, slash, and bite at them ferociously.

“Let’s hold on till they come!”

“Fight! punching the beasts will do at least a damage, just defend and attack!”

“FIGHT! WE HAVE-kuack!”

Karas’s group are killing the monsters between two to four strikes, while the newbies are doing one to two damage per hit, some using stones as a weapon and would sometimes do three damage.

[You’ve gained a level.]

Karas smiled, he had reached level 4 after playing for four hours, truth be told, he wasn’t sure if he would reach level 3 today when he witnessed the tides of beasts continuously attacking them.

He estimated that he’ll die in about the first hour, but to think that he managed to get himself a group of hundreds of players immediately, it became quite a spectacle for him.

Attr. Pt(s): 4]

The stats are actually quite impressive, for each level, some stats would randomly increase depending on one’s actions and experience before leveling up, four attribute points are given per level as well.

But it’s actually a really great idea, after all, if they form a party, everyone will get a shared experience, but that’s the greatness of it. If they share experience, then, the booster will get the same experience as the others, but then, since you’ve almost been doing everything, your attributes will increase exponentially, doing the work for the rest of your teammates? You get benefits!

But if you’re merely a leecher, maybe you can level up, but there is a chance that you won’t even get a single attribute increased other than the attribute points!

Seeing this, Karas smiled: ‘I’m going to solo this game instead.’

Karas and the others didn’t form any parties, not because they didn’t want to, but because nobody knows how.

Basically, this whole game is guideless!

There are no tips nor are there any help, they need to figure everything out by themselves.

Karas mused for a bit: ‘This game is actually helpful, it can train a few thousands of people for the time to come.’

‘It’s also better for more people to survive, living alone for years is a curse, it can cause people’s minds to dry up.’

As he thought up to this, he remembered how there are times where six whole months had passed and he didn’t speak, rather, he couldn’t even speak He’d like to keep his sanity intact in a dangerous environment after all.

Karas shook his head: “Not the time to daydream, bro, let’s go!”
