Chapter 26 – Improvization On Magic Bullet

A tired and hungry Nick entered his room and threw himself on the bed, preparing to call it a night. Before that, however, he was curious to know whether there was any improvement in his magic level status. Not long after, the system displayed the required information for him.

‘Nick’

‘Level 2 – Imper Mage (Peak)’

‘Physical Capability = 2.1’

‘INT = 2.8’

‘Magical Ability’

‘Life Siphon – Completed’

‘Energy Bolt – Completed’

This was sufficient to promptly send the young mage into sleep land.

When Nick next opened his eyes, the clock had already struck 6 AM. He quickly got to his feet and first made his way to the shower. Just as he was getting done, he heard someone knock on the door. Once Nick called out to indicate that he was awake, a Werfur woman entered the room.

The Werfur woman had brought along a tray that was filled with four different kinds of food. She did not inquire after Nick but set out the tray on the table and made a greeting after that.

“Good morning Mr. Epsilon, this is your breakfast.”

Nick knew that the Werfur woman was polite only because she was instructed to be so and not because she had any good feelings towards Nick. But he was accustomed to the weird feelings that ordinary Werfurs gave to him. This was only normal as they did not like humans at all. Humans had, after all, sold their kin as slaves to other races or humans.

After the Werfur woman left the room, Nick inspected the food she had brought. The simple-looking meal appeared to be of good, nutritious quality. There were two chicken eggs, a slice of cheese, a hot beverage that looked like tea and smelled delicious. A piece of meat of about 250-300 grams was paired with some tomato and onion salad as well in the wholesome meal. Compared to what he was given while he was a slave at the magic school, this was luxury food.

Given that he skipped his meals the previous day as well, without thinking any longer, Nick dove in and devoured the breakfast.

About 10-15 minutes later, he had cleaned up all the plates and sighed with contentment. He did not expect the food to taste this good.

Preparing for another day of magical training and research, he then changed his clothes. Today, Nick wore was an all-black attire — a black linen shirt, black pants, and black shoes. The fabric quality was good, and Nick felt comfortable in them.

As soon as Nick was in his office, he closed his eyes and activated the ‘Iron-Blood Magical Shield’. The spell instantly showed its effect, and a light, reddish-grey-colored, shield surrounded Nick.

He activated the passive spell because Nick knew that using a spell improved his magical quality and power, as well as his level. He wanted to train, and so far, his training was happening in unusual ways.

After he activated the shield, he started working on a different project. Nick had already finished the project that Rabial had given to him. He also was insistent that there was no need to improve it any further as the payment was not enough for more upgrades.

With the passive shield in effect, Nick first created an ‘Energy Bullet’, the first spell that he had created and used at the same time. He used it similarly today as well. He had already prepared a target practice and started thinking about how to maximize the use of the ‘Energy Bullet’ spell. As an intelligent person, Nick believed that before trying to create stronger spells, it was best that he mastered the spell itself in its most base form.

His current magic level status showed that he knew the ‘Life Siphon’ spell but for the time being, he did not have any living target to use and experiment on. ‘Energy Bolt’ was a basic spell that almost all mages knew so he did not include it.

“Energy Bullet is basically a magical spell that imitates a bullet fired from a modern 9mm gun.”

He whispered to himself. He then took some papers and started thinking. Nick was curious to explore if there was any knowledge or imagination, part of his more evolved way of creating spells, that he could put on ‘Energy Bullet’ to improve it further.

“I need to think more creatively.”

Nick encouraged himself and started making notes to upgrade the ‘Energy Bullet’ spell.

‘Energy Bullet’

‘Addon’

‘Control the mana’ + ‘Form a bullet from the mana’

‘Imagine the bullet shoot from a weapon.’

‘Imagine the bullet creating a spin before shooting towards the target.’

‘Imagine ‘Sound Barrier’ to break.’

Nick was amused as he added the point to imagine ‘Sound Barrier’ to break. Sound barriers broke when an object surpassed the speed of sound. Before adding more knowledge, he first used imagination to see if there was any effect on the power and speed of ‘Energy Bullet’.

He created the energy bullet according to new instructions. The bullet manifested in 0.2 seconds and started spinning. Nick targeted a blank stone wall in his office and directed the energy bullet at his target point.

The energy bullet fired towards the target, but the sound barrier did not break down. Within seconds though, the energy bullet entered the wall and cracked the wall easily as it vanished slowly.

“The power of the energy bullet and its speed has increased by about 5-15%. But I did not imagine it had any ‘physical properties’ as I did before.”

Nick usually imagined that the energy bullet had iron in it when he had cast the spell earlier. This time he did not imagine this property but only imagined breaking the sound barrier. The power was still stronger compared to adding physical properties to an energy bullet.

He then tried this from another perspective. This time he still added ‘Sound Barrier’ imagination for breaking, but he did not just do that also imagined that the created energy bullet had iron in it using the ‘Fe’ knowledge.

Unlike earlier, however, the energy bullet took 0.4 seconds to manifest itself this time. This was expected as its properties had changed. It showed grey-colored energy with some bit of physical matter and shot towards the wall after spinning.

Again, the sound barrier did not break, but the bullet created more damage to the wall than the last time.

“The power of energy bullet increased by 10% again, but the casting speed increased by 0.2 seconds. This means that using ‘Fe’ on energy bullet is not effective enough. The 0.2 seconds may not seem important, but it would work wonders when it came to a real battlefield.”

Nick closed his eyes and continued to work on enhancing his power.
