As Epsilon wrapped his mind around his no-mean-feat, he smiled. After resting for some time, he felt slightly refreshed as well. Having come this far, there was now only one aspect, at least in the knowledge section, that was needed to be added to the Crowia project.
Epsilon wanted that the Crowia race to be humanoids who could walk on two legs and have two arms, be as close to humans as possible. To make this a reality, he needed to add the appropriate knowledge. However, if he tried to add knowledge limb by limb that would prove to be an unnecessary challenge. Therefore, he figured that if he just added humanoid ‘knowledge’, that would take care of the problem completely.
He was afraid that making this more complicated could potentially hurt him, and perhaps inflict more damage than he could recover from. He knew he had come too far to stop this now; he must complete it. Because his comprehension level of some matters was more thorough than other people or beings, he was not discouraged. He was confident of his spells and magic. He solemnly believed he had the wherewithal to handle any backlash that could come from this project.
Epsilon let out a short breath and started thinking. He closed his eyes and added the humanoid ‘knowledge’.
‘Knowledge – 5’
A humanoid is a non-human entity with a human form or characteristics. The earliest recorded use of the term, in 1870, referred to indigenous peoples in areas colonized by Europeans. By the 20th century, the term came to describe morphologically similar fossils, but not identical, to those of the human skeleton.
Although this usage was common in the sciences for much of the 20th century, it is now considered rare. More generally, the term can refer to anything with distinctly human characteristics or adaptations, such as possessing opposable anterior forelimb-appendages (i.e. thumbs), visible spectrum-binocular vision (i.e. having two eyes), or biomechanic plantigrade-bipedalism (i.e. the ability to walk on heels and metatarsals in an upright position).
Epsilon kept his breathing steady as much as possible as he finished the details for the evolutional process and the humanoid knowledge.
Blackish blood had begun oozing from his mouth and nose but he did not care. He lied down flat on the ground and began circulating his magical energy with the purpose to regenerate the lost energy.
While Epsilon was doing this, the first from the Crowia race, the Crowman, began taking shape in his mind. As more knowledge was added, more magical energy was used. The race he wanted to create became more real and comprehensive from his viewpoint.
Epsilon took long and deep breaths as he was still injured due to the loss of the magical energy. But it would appear lady luck wanted to test him a bit today. He noticed a small flock of birds heading in his direction. These birds were in the shape of a cat and an eagle hybrid, reminding him of the mythical creatures Griffins from Earth. It seemed like they were attracted to the smell of his blood.
Epsilon was still low on power and his body was still throwing up blood even though it had lessened. He thought a little and conjured 10 Reaper Anubites.
The Reaper Anubites appeared on the ground and formed a protective circle around him. Since these summoned creatures had some reasoning capabilities, they already understood their master was in trouble.
Epsilon ordered.
“Do not hunt them unless they attack me or you first.”
The Reaper Anubites answered in unison
“Yes Lord!”
Reaper Anubites, or rather ‘Death Anubites’, because their power level now was of Prive Peak, almost Provec. Two or three of them could take out one Provec Level being without any hurdles and now there were 10 of them at the same time.
A Magister Level mage too would need to think twice before taking on 10 Death Anubites at the same time. The Death Anubites were on alert, waiting for the flock of bird creatures to come closer and gauge what they were going to do.
As they got closer, Epsilon lying on the ground had his chance to inspect them with his magical energy.
‘Wind Cat Lord’
‘Level – Prive Beginner’
‘Abilities’
‘Wind Slash’
‘Flying – Passive’
‘Wind Speed’
‘Wind Understanding 0.01%’
Epsilon was happy that they did not appear strong and their level was not much even though they were five or six of them.
At this time, one of the Wind Cat Lords slowed down a little and started speaking in a human language though in an overbearing voice.
“You are in the land of the ‘Wind Cat Empire’ that is controlled and founded by the Wind Cat Emperor. If you do not leave, we have to use force to attack.”
On any other occasion, Epsilon might have tried to reason it out, but in his present condition, he resented being ordered and issued a simple instruction to the Death Anubites.
“Take them out.”
With his whisper, all 10 Death Anubites started circulating their death energy. They exuded a death aura in themselves. Seeing what the Anubites were trying to do, the Wind Cat Lords took on a defensive stance. They understood this was preparation for war.
They were not scared by the Death Anubites, only shocked.
Seconds later, the Death Anubites jumped towards the Wind Cats, targeting them to slash their innards. The Wind Cats were too agile in the air and started using their Wind Slash ability to counterattack. Epsilon was still recovering his magical ability but in less than a minute, he was now back to his normal level.
At this time, he noticed a difference between himself and his Death Anubites and the Wind Cat Lords. He saw six Wind Cat Lords were targeting only one Death Anubite and they all used different kinds of wind magic that were not just the Wind Slash. The body of the Death Anubite they targeted was cut incessantly and seconds later, it turned bloody and died.
All the Wind Cat Lords used their joint powers and managed to kill one of the Death Anubites. However, this cost them a lot. The remaining Death Anubites smiled when they saw this. Two of them hurled their sickles at superspeed towards the Wind Cat Lords.
Even if the speed of the Wind Cat Lords was much faster than the Death Anubites that were capable of jumping but not flying, in close range, they could not block or evade the sickle attack.
“Pluck”
“Pluck”
Seconds later, two sickles hit their respective targets and two of the Wind Cat Lords fell to the ground. They were cut in half by the sickles or were injured gravely with no chance to return to life if not treated.
