Tale Of Epsilon – Chapter 185

The name of the woman-like contestant was Nadea. the description about her is impressive; it seems like she has too much of a fan-base. Epsilon did not understand why she would be entering a death-match

Nadea is a much beloved and deeply venerated goddess. Learning, jewels and chains are several major elements this divine being is associated with and many think of her as imprudent and humorous.

Often depicted as a form of a cat, Nadea is usually worshiped through atonements and offerings.

There’s one main place for those craving the power potentially given by Nadea, but natural shrines and small shrines are a good way to start connecting.

Worshippers are in the majority and tend to come in the form of traders and adventurers and outsiders are often less welcome among followers of this goddess. As long as the right atonements and offerings are abided by.

Nadea has no desire for lovers. Granted this changes nothing to the power Nadea can provide, but when together they’re a force to be reckoned with.

Compared to the Description of Nadea. the description of other contestant named Defis is like a description of a f****** monster. Which is not funny at all. They made him look like a monster without any mind but these creatures and beings were still at the Lord Level and their power is nothing to be joked of. Why would they make him look like that?

Two beady eyes observe their surroundings from their huge sockets. A short nose rests below, but it’s the giant mouth below that takes all the attention. A gummy smile reveals curved fangs and a large tongue.

Thin warped ears sit on each side of its short, narrow head, which itself is covered in bony ridges and has two small antlers protruding from the top.

Its average broad body stands straight. Two long fleshy arms hang at its sides and end in tentacle-like hands with long fingers, of which it has 8 in total.

Its legs are wide and stand straight, each ending in lean hooves.

Its body is covered in coarse skin and its shoulders are broader than its pelvis, from which a large tail sways back and forth.

As Epsilon was reading about to story of Defis. he learned that he was a survivor of poison jar. Which is not a thing that could be taken off. Back then when he was just a Magister Level Mage. he was put on a trial by his race lords. The trial was consited of more than 100 Magister Level beings. The trial was simple. The creatures in the domain they have been put in need to kill each other and survive. Only ten of them will live and other 90 of them will die. As long as there are living beings the abilities will not work at all. They would be executed.

Survival of Fittest.

Epsilon knows this technique it is called literally Poison Jar which is used to conduct a strong poison using the bugs.

To create Poison Jar, sorcerers would mix several insects in a jar, and let them kill one another until only one survived. The fluids of the insect that survived would be used to poison an individual with a curse that would control them, cause them misfortune, or kill them. The remaining insect could also be used as a sort of “luck charm” granting the one who performed the ritual great wealth. In return the owner is supposed to feed the bug. Neglecting to do so would enrage the insect, if the owner does not equivalently repay the insect by placing all his or her riches beside a road, plus interest in gold and silver, the insect would devour the home owner. Therefore, this ritual could also be used as a death curse by giving the riches to an ignorant individual. The term “Poison Jar” can also be applied to the spirit which is the incarnation of this particular magic (which usually appears in the shape of a worm or other animal).

Epsilon was waiting the battle start and see them with his own eyes before putting his bet on one of them. After about ten minutes the location of battle decided as a battlefield great plains.

Compared to Ghost Town of in the battle of Naligor and Alimor. this arena suited better for close combat type of beings. As the location was simple and plain. There was not many place the one who fights using ranged abilities to escape.

The great plains  is littered with destruction, weapons and wounded fighters. Red, khaki and blue are the new colors of what was once a harmonious, lush great plains, which has now become the stage of a ruthless battle.

The air which would normally carry the delicate scents of flowers  is now thick with the scent of death and decay, the mere sense of it will make you want to run.

An army of rebels and an army of warriors fight each other because of a betrayal, but there’s no hint of which side will win. The dead of one side lay in large groups across the forest and the faces of the fighters are hopeful with boots stepping firmly and their muscles tense and anxious, they take on their enemies.

With no way to know if they’ll live or die the other side ferociously battles their enemies. Some have succumbed to fatigue and are sleeping amidst debris, rubble and their wounded, while others fight on in the hopes to survive this terror.

The toll on both nature and humanity is enormous. It’ll likely take decades before this forest will have recovered. It’s clear blood, explosion holes and gore have taken the place of bushes, trees and grass. The Arena was the battlefield of the past.

Epsilon waited for the Nadea and Defis to show up. Seconds later. Both contestants showed up. they have 200 to 300 meters of distance between them.

After about one minute later. The section of betting opened. The spectators started putting their bet. From the first look. Nadea was the one who had filled up almost all the bets. Epsilon just smiled and inspected the two before putting his bet.
