Chapter 76- Bounty

KMega6KMegacharacter opened his eyes on the battlefield. His health, stamina, and hunger stats were all bottomed out. He then quickly checked his inventory and noticed that except for some money, he didn’t drop anything else of worth except for his great sword. While he was unconscious, he couldn’t learn any new information, so he had to read the fight log. Demon bears were weak to holy and fire magic, but piercing weapons work the best since it’s fur negates slashes and blunt damage. You don’t need a strong tank to fight them either, just someone fast that can keep aggro. To give yourself the highest win rate; two attackers must keep their distance, while two others must stay close and employ hit and run tactics. As he added a description to the video, KMega thought that that strategy would work the best as a brief tutorial.

After taking some time to do a full check-up and eating, he looked at the slain beast. It’s black aura was still lingering despite it being dead. He wanted it’s drops, but he was also wary how the demon’s corpse would affect nature. He tried to put it into his inventory, but the system didn’t allow it like he thought. This means that he would either destroy it now or bring it back to the village by carrying it. In the end, he made a makeshift shuttle for the corpse before dragging it back to the village.

The journey took twice as long since he had to carry the corpse, and he wasn’t attacked, which was unusual. While he was travelling, he took a break at an abandoned makeshift camp that he assumed belonged to the spy that ran back for his bounty as fast as possible. He even suspected that the spy completed a demon summoning ritual just to lure him to this spot since nothing short of a hundred soldiers could have normally taken down the beast. As he walked, he formed more and more wild theories inside his head as he went. In his imagination, nothing was outside the realm of possibility.

When he finally arrived at the village, several villagers and a few players walked over to him curiously. After warning them to stay back, they noticed the demonic aura around him, so they naturally called a priest. After being lead to a barren plot of land, KMega finally set the beast down so he could rest. Sweat poured down his face as the priest arrived.

“God KMega.” (Priest)

The priest said to himself, before the person at his side stared at the beast, and then at the person who subdued it. KMega then noticed that both of their holy auras were rather strong, but one of them was a lot stronger than the other.

“I would normally purify the beast first, but I fear that this is a prelude to something greater. Seal me and the beast in a ward while you fetch someone with higher authority.” (KMega)

Terrar then arrived back at the empire extremely pleased with himself. When he arrived at the person that gave out the quest, he presented them the great sword. This person was naturally General Marcus Davis Glorihouse the III that noticed Terrar during the tournament and wanted to make him his underling. His disbelief and shock was evident as he looked at the sword that had a green dragon4dragonspeciess eye sigil on the hilt.

“How?!” (Marcus)

Out of all the questions the general had, this one word was the only thing that could escape his lips.
