It was raining outside, it had been a depressing day for me. “I don’t understand why she had to say that before we graduated, I thought we had something.” I thought back to that moment before I walked up to take my diploma, Jenny was staring at me, she looked saddened by something.
“Hey, Kamen. Come over here”. Jenny said. I walked over to see what she wanted while the principal was reading out names. “What’s up Jenny?” I asked. “I don’t think I can be friends with you anymore, I’m sorry.” Jenny said.
“W-why, what happened, did I do something?” I asked confused. “It’s nothing you did, it’s just my family, they don’t want me to be around you anymore.”
Fast-forward six hours later.
I go down to the kitchen looking for something to eat to keep my mind off of Jenny. ” I can’t believe I forgot about my favorite cereal Golden Cinnaflakes, I haven’t had this is a long time.” I grab a bowl and some milk from the fridge, I hear a noise from outside, it sounds like a muffled scream.
“What was that?” I ask myself as I run to the door and open the door. As I open the door, I see a woman being drug into the woods across from my house by a man, he looks like he’s in his late 30’s probably around my size atleast 260 he has short black hair and one of his eyes is bleeding.
“Hey, let her go!” I yell out. The man turns around and stares at me. I freeze when we make eye contact, his bloody eye is perfectly fine, like he didn’t have anything wrong with it. He says in a low tone. “Stay out of this human, this doesn’t concern you.” He turns and walks back into the woods dragging the woman.
“Did he just call me human?” I stand there confused before I snap out of my confusion. “Someone needs to help her, if only my phone worked, this damn thunderstorm. Running to my room I grab my jacket and run out the door heading towards the woods. “What was that guy, I can’t get him out of my head, and the fact that he called me human, what kinda drugs was that guy on and what happened to his eye?” I keep running through the forest trying to find them, until I hear that womans scream. I run towards it, until I see something that stops me in my tracks cold. Looking forward I see the man picking the girl up by the throat blood red eyes and sharp teeth, he bites into her neck and starts sucking her blood. I gasp, and he locking onto me. “I told you to stay out of this human, now you’ll die like this woman.” He snaps her neck after draining her blood and throws her on the ground and disappears.
“What the absolute f*** is going on?” I ask terrified. I turn around and there he is standing behind me with a big toothy grin staring down at me. He reaches an arm out to me and stops when I hear another voice, it sounds familiar.
Looking over I see Jenny running towards us, with the same blood red eyes as him. “You stay away from him Alistair, he’s mine!” Jenny disappears and runs her hand through his shoulder. “Of-course, the love stricken friend is here to protect her oh so beloved crush” Alistair says mockingly.
“Jenny, what are you doing here, and why are your eyes like his?” I’m terrified. “Why is she here and how did she know where i was?” I thought. “Damn it Alistair, I told you before that Kamen was mine!” Jenny said in a low growl.
“I never said I would listen, he’s the one who tried to stop me from eating this girl.” He motions to the woman laying still on the ground covered in blood, her eyes are wide open in shock.
I can’t look away from Jenny. “Is this why you said that you couldn’t be friends with me anymore?” I ask not being able to move. “I’m sorry Kamen, I didn’t know how to tell you, I’m reaching my mature age and my parents didn’t think I could hold back around you without draining you of your blood.”
Alistair looks at Jenny and starts laughing. “I don’t think I can keep up this facade anymore Jenny.” I look at Jenny confused.
“What’s he talking about Jenny?” I asked extremely confused.
*Sigh* “Alright, look Kamen, Alistair isn’t really gonna hurt you, this is just a prank he thought would be funny.” Jenny says looking deep into my eyes.
“So this is all a joke?, What about that woman is she in on this too?” I ask getting irritated. “No.” Alistair says while he picks up the woman from the ground and biting into her neck again for another sip of blood. “Ah, that was tasty.” Alistair throws her back on the ground. ” That ugly woma-” The woman on the ground gets up and smacks Alistair on the back of the head. “UGLY? I’LL SHOW YOU UGLY!” She starts chasing Alistair around trying to hit him. ” Baby, I’m sorry I was just trying to sell this to Kamen!” Alistair says while running away.
“Okay. Let’s start over. I’m super confused Jenny.” I say looking at Alistair running away screaming. ” Well…. That woman is my sister Becca, and that man Alistair is her fiance. I wanted to introduce you to my family but I didn’t know how.” Jenny says looking down at the ground saddened by tricking me.
“Okay, so if this was a joke, how did you guys do the makeup?” I ask. “That’s the thing, it wasn’t makeup.”
Before I can say anything Jenny grabs me and bites my neck and sucks my blood. Shocked, I can’t do anything. Jenny pulls back and says “I’m sorry Kamen, it has to be done like this.”
“Has to be done like this?” I think. Then in a second, Jenny snaps my neck and everything fades to black.
“Kamen, wake up.” Jenny says before slapping me in the face.
“Ow, what the f***?!” I get up looking around, I see Jenny sitting in a chair next to the bed I’m in. “What am I doing here Jenny, what did you do to me?” “I had to make you like me if I wanted to keep you in my life.” Jenny says looking away, felling guilty about what she did to the man she had a crush on.
“What do you mean? Are you saying you turned me into a vampire?” I ask while gripping the metal bed-frame and bending it with my grip. “Please, just stay calm, you have to get used to it Kamen, if you strain yourself too much you’ll cause damage to your soul.” “My soul? Why the f*** would my soul be hurt from this?” I point to the the metal bed frame.
“Because you haven’t fully made the change to vampire, you’re more or less in limbo until you feed for the first time.” Alistair says leaning in the door frame eating an apple.
“Oh my god this guy is a serious douche, trying to look cool. He pranked me and nearly “Killed” me, I oughta throttle him.” I think to myself. “So what happens if I don’t feed? Do I turn back to a normal human?” I ask curiously. “No, sadly. If you don’t feed within 24 hours your body will be eaten by the vampiric blood running in your veins and you’ll die.” Jenny says getting up from the chair and walking towards a dresser grabbing some clothes and hands them to me. “Here, you’ll need these.”
Looking at the clothes I can’t help but ask. “Why on earth would I need clothes, I have perfectly good clothes on.” I motion to my body where I notice I’m naked. “What the hell, why am I naked?” I say grabbing the blanket and covering myself up. “Please, trust me buddy, you ain’t got anything special that needs covered up.” Alistair says laughing.
