“Just some errand, why did you suddenly pop up again?”
“No reason, Juke accidentally trigger a switch that’s all.”
“Oh, could you switch back to Juke, I can finally solve you guys small fight.”
Joke makes a switch back to Juke.
Brenner’s hand slowly reaches out to Juke’s hands grasping onto it. He knelt on the floor. Crocodile tears started to roll down his cheeks.
“Juke, do you trust me?”
“Yes. What is wrong Doctor Brenner?”
“I need you to listen to me very carefully, I will tell you about your past.”
Juke looked at Brenner with confusion, trying to understand what he meant behind his words.
“For now trust me ok.”
Juke stop trying to figure out his intention, and decide to fully follow the instructions.
After a thorough explanation of what he did to Jake with a few sprinkles of lies to fit into his objective, Brenner left Juke in the room alone.
Cries of anguish could be heard from the room, Brenner did not bother to look back, knowing what kind of monster he have unleash.
“BAM BAM.”
A loud banging on the door could be heard and what emerged from the door was none other than Joke.
“Where is Doc.”
He screams hysterically through the corridor. He ends up in the cafeteria as he runs through the corridor. He saw a knife lying around and pick it up. He went on a rampage in the cafeteria. Blood splattered everywhere, body parts flying everywhere from Joke’s rampage.
The cafeteria door suddenly swings open, and a bunch of people in dark blue outfits came rushing in through the door
Seeing the situation that was turned against his favor, Joke took one of the nurse and place a knife to her neck
“Sir put your hand up and release the hostage from your Grasp.”
Joke continues to threaten and kill the nurse if Doctor Brenner does not come and see him in five minutes.
Seeing how the situation could turn for the worse the police immediately assure him that they will escort his Doctor to visit him.
“Sir just wait he will be here in a moment.”
Joke’s hand slowly tighten his grip and the knife started to slowly sink into the nurse’s neck. Although is not deep enough to kill her but is enough to see a drip of blood dripping down.
“Sir we understand you are going through a hard time, but there is no need to kill a person.”
“SHUT UP, any more words from you guys I will snap this poor lady’s neck.”
“Juke why are you doing this?”
A voice that Joke knows way too well. The only thing that confuse him was why did the Doc call him Juke instead of Joke, like he always do.
“I’m not Juke. I am Joke.”
‘Juke i told you that you have split personality disorder, which makes you think you are someone else.’
“I am not Juke, Juke is dead. Doc you kill Juke after you tell him his past.”
“Juke, you are here right now what are you saying?”
“You monster, I should have known seeing how you and the kid from the past look similar. You are him.”
Joke just laughs out of pity. He thought to himself how they never escape from the red eye devil, instead, they were always just his plaything.
Joke gave up on trying to live, he grits his teeth and ran toward Brenner with a knife, leaving the nurses behind.
“BANG”
Silence fills the room after the first shot. The bullet went through Joke lungs. He did not falter as he continue to run toward Brenner. He put out his hand ready to stab Brenner.
“TING”
The knife hit the floor. He ran out of oxygen and he drop onto the arm of Brenner.
“Doc I will see you in hell, you devil.”
As his eyes turn lifeless.
The scene has finally died down and the police started to escort everyone out as they clean up the scene of all the bodies.
“Sorry, Doc. Detective Aiden here, may i get a few statements about Juke?”
“Sure thing.”
Brenner suddenly felt a tug on his white coat. He turn around to comfort Jessica.
“Brenner please stay with me.”
“Jessica, you know what is our job is.”
“You always try to be strong but at times you break.”
Hearing what Jessica say, Brenner hesitated. He looks at Detective Aiden and convinces him to let him calm Jessica before reporting the case to him.
After a few minutes, Jessica was finally tired out and Brenner could finally tell Aiden what happen.
“Doc, something feels wrong. This entire case feels like there is too many unnatural factors.”
“I agree Detective, It feels like someone made a juke into a monster. Causing him to rampage.”
Aiden look at Brenner with suspicion.
“Doc, are you sure that the person is not you?”
Brenner was surprised by the direct confrontation from Aiden. He kept his cool and just smile with intrigued.
“I guess that makes us both Monster, in that case, seeing how you feel empty after killing my patient detective.”
Both of them just laugh
“Doc, make sure you won’t be at the end of my barrel the next time we see each other.’
‘Of course, I’m sane enough to run from danger.”
Both went their separate way, after the interrogation. Brenner just smile and whisper under his breath.
“Detective Aiden, I hope the monster I release in this peaceful era will make your hunt somewhat enjoyable.”
