Mars is in the process of being colonized by immigrants from an overpopulated Earth. Most come for honest work in the administrative department, research labs, and farms while others look for a fresh start in interplanetary commerce between Earth and Mars. Then there are the Earth prisoners who have been offered a chance to serve out their sentences on Mars as cheap manual labor in the Red Ore mines.

However, within the depts of these mines slumbers an organism that hasn't seen the light of our Sun for thousands of years. This creature is one of the last remnants of an ancient interstellar species that destroyed the biodome of many worlds including Mars. A young mine worker will accidentally awaken this lifeform that will bring about the end of human civilization and begin the rise of the Bugs.

The battle for the supremacy of Mars, Earth, the Sol system, and the rest of the universe.
