32–Rewrite

[Take any poem or short story you enjoy. Rewrite it in your own words.]

Oh boy, I’m good at this! *thinks about Versatile Mage Rewritten*

            …But I can’t think of any poems or short stories I enjoy…

But I don’t feel like writing anything new today, so I’ll just type a poem I wrote before I got into writing. Be warned, it’s not that good…

            ……

            That thing above which looms,

Many winds that could bring their dooms,

            Leaving them buried without tombs.

            It all happened quite suddenly,

It was to be a trip most happily,

            On a mountain pretty abundantly,

            Covered in verdant shrubbery.

They did a lot of walking,

Up the slopes they were enjoying,

            That soon became very terrifying.

What made the trip so scary was water,

Poured from what seemed to be a monster,

Causing their brave fronts to falter.

They had no choice but to retreat,

Losing what they planned to eat,

Causing them to have to compete.

            Nothing left, not even sanity,

Only a few survived, scarred from their vanity,

Only once they were brought back, to society,

Did they regain just a bit, of their humanity.
