Rumors about the duel spread like wildfire. Thanks to AI, the whole school knew of the mysterious swordsman that possessed bona fide physical strength and the ability to cancel magic spells. The news even made trending on the front page of the student forums.
A few students whispered nearby Amae and Trinity, eyes glued to their gadget that depicted the highlights of the fight.
“You won’t believe what happens next, check out how he deals with the「Pyroclastic Bomb」!”
“Wait, isn’t that spell against the rules?”
“Yeah, the guy’s probably suspended now.”
“What a dumbass. Who gets suspended on the first day of school?”
“Things that Regular does. I’ll make that into a popular hashtag.”
A blindingly radiant smile dawned on Amae’s face when a small crowd began to form around the two girls, bombarding questions about her favorite person in the whole wide world. The praises and amazement sounded like a sweet lullaby in her ears.
“Hey Amae, isn’t that person in the duel your big brother?”
“That Onii person seems quite strong. Why did he place in F-rank?”
“I saw the entire video clip — how did he make those spells disappear?! What’s the secret to that spell? I need to know what it is!”
“I saw him carrying a sword beside his waist before the orientation. Is that real?”
Trinity scanned at the circle of people that had formed around them. She has long waist-length silvery blue hair and the left side of her bangs has a small bowtie tied to it. She has two cat-like flairs on the sides of her hair and a small ahoge on the top which moves in sync with her actions.
She quickly became Amae’s newest friend because of their similar personality and interests in culinary arts. The two instantly clicked when they introduced themselves to each other.
The catgirl growled at the few others in which they backed off.
“It’s okay, Trinity.”
Amae patted her shoulder gently and beamed in a jovial expression. Compare to the conversations earlier, the beautiful maiden seemed completely different. Many could tell that she was trying hard to contain the explosive excitement inside.
“You’ve been talking for the past few hours. And you have a speech coming up after lunch for the class election. Are you not tired?”
“Well… if it’s about my big brother,” Amae’s sapphire-blue eyes suddenly burned brilliantly as though a wave of fervor had entered her. “Then, as his little sister, it’s my duty to answer them!”
Her rose-pink lips slowly blossomed into a beaming smile.
“After all, in what universe would someone not be happy over the success of their loved one?”
