Chapter 6 – Player 2 has joined the Game!

He’d always wake up after not dying, time and time again he’d been interrupted out of nowhere, spawning him back into that empty void that the System calls its home.

One time, he’d just gotten into his bed, and guess what? He spawned into the dungeon in his underwear. Everything that he has equipped in the transportation process gets taken with him.

Sadly, though, he can’t seem to bring back items from the System’s dungeon.

*BAM BAM BAM*

[Goblin Lvl. 100] [HP: 2500/2500]

[Equipment: Bronze Sword]

*SLASH*

In order to overpower stronger mobs, Zane would always steal the equipment of the strongest mob in the group and kill the mob after acquiring its weapon. Everything he touched that was a part of the mob after killing it, became a part of his inventory – he could re-use items this way, instead of relying on the system’s oh-so-useful weapons.

Even after he had survived the first few times, the System kept giving Zane trash items.

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

It liked to give Zane low-tier swords and useless potions that would look promising at first but tricked him by not giving him what was stated in the description of the item.

[Lesser Health Potion]

[Description: restores 5% of your HP]

[Low on HP?]

“Shut up, this Goblin ain’t a big deal…”

[Goblin Lvl. 100]

[HP: 2001.999/2500]

Hours had passed, and Zane’s HP had dwindled into the low 50s.

[Player: Z-A-N-E]

[HP: 52/100]

After he had survived the 2nd time, he was rewarded with a status text label that would fly above his head at all times.

And instead of giving me a menu where I can see my status directly in front of me, the system forces me to look up in order to see my HP.

[Ungrateful, aren’t we?]

“Sigh…”

[Used Item ‘Lesser Health Potion’]

[O_O]

[Status effect applied: -0.10 HP per minute]

“EXCUSE ME?”

[<_<]

[I’ve got nothing to do with this, I swear!]

“Tell me about it…”

This system didn’t give a single f*** about Zane, he treated him like a game character. Furthermore, it wasn’t very creative with its monsters and never changed the game’s environment.

When Zane was spawned for the 3rd time into this world, he was greeted by a new message.

[Welcome to my little Dungeon]

You call this a dungeon? Nothing has changed except for the monster’s levels.

The System was still using the same monster models like the ones it used for the Hivelings. The so-called goblins just looked like generic Insect models.

“At least try to be a bit more creative when trying to kill someone…”

[Noted…]

 …

“So you’re saying that you’ve been summoned to a game-like ‘dungeon’ and that you’ve no control over this dungeon. And a so-called system is acting as your arch-nemesis in this whole affair, correct?”

“Yes, that’s… correct doctor…”

After being summoned for the 10th time, Zane decided to go and see a doctor. After all, he found his hallucinations to be – as described by him: “Too f****** terrifying” and “Too vivid to possibly be a hallucination”

“Have you been taking any meds, Zane?”

“No, I haven’t had anything…”

“Well, with the given description, I can, without a doubt, prescribe you with medication against schizophrenia and its symptoms.”

“But this System won’t care about me taking meds, it won’t be stopped by mere chemicals…”

“Mister, if I may, that System of yours is merely in your head. Everything will go a whole lot smoother if you consume the given dose of medication each day.”

“I guess…”

[Welcome to my little dungeon]

“You have got to be kidding me…”

He looked around him, trying to find a difference in the dungeon, but to no avail, it had stayed the same during his absence.

A small display popped out of nowhere and presented itself in front of Zane.

[Update 1.0.1, Developer’s Log] [View Log] [Cancel]

‘Well, this is new, let’s check out the developer’s log then…’

[Added new Monster models]

[New monster: Poisonous Spider]

[Added status: Stamina]

So, new monster models? It probably added new ones for the goblins and such… And… Aren’t most spiders poisonous already?

=> [Added status: S T A M I N A] <=

“Stamina? Sta… Sta-m-i-n-a?”

[Yeah, stop grinding already, I’ve been taking notes and decided that you can’t continue spamming short attacks like that, it’s rather boring to look at.]

Only allowed on Creativenovels.com

“You don’t say…”

Sure, grinding is always boring, but at least there’s some visual distraction in a dungeon – well at least if the developer of said dungeon actually put effort into its design…

[But don’t worry, I’ve decided to give you a little present.]

“A present?”

[That’s right! A present, just for you…]

‘I really need to bump up my medication…’

[Player 2 has joined the game]

[Player 2] [Username: Jack] [Skills: None] [Inventory] [0 Items]

*Munch* *Munch*

A rather peculiar fellow had joined the dungeon.

A half-eaten burrito still visible in his left-hand whilst he was munching the other half in one bite.

“Erhm, where am I?”

‘You’ve got to be kidding me… He has no skills, and yet, he stays so calm?’

“Well mate, I don’t know… All I know is that we’re in some kind of bland dungeon made by…”

[:O]

“Yeah, you see that floating display over there? Ignore it, it will save you a lot of time. Oh, and by the way, it created this mess of a dungeon…”

[>;’(]

The man looked at Zane with the most neutral face he had ever seen – as if the guy had gathered all of his willpower and poured it into that one burrito, focusing on his food instead of the current situation.

“So it’s like a game right? Sweet…”

[Well this guy seems to get it, Zane, you could learn something from him.]

“So where’s my weapon?”, the man aimlessly tapped on various buttons on a display that had appeared before him after he’d joined the dungeon.

[Oh I almost forgot, here you go!]

[1 Item has been added to Jack’s inventory]

“OHOHOHOHO SWEET! Thanks!!!”
