Chapter 1: Karas Sliv

“I only have four years…” A man… no, a boy at the age of sixteen muttered in a room without a light, he looked out of the broken window as he chuckles: “Still, it’s way better than dying again… I need to prepare.”

As he spoke to this, he looked at the other part of the room: “What was that again? Status Window?”

When he finished, a white holographic box appeared!

[Name: Karas Sliv
Class: Shut-in
HP: 100

SP: 100
Lvl: 1 (0/104)
Str: 1(4)
Agi: 1
Int: 21 [124]–
Atk: 1 ~ 1
Def: 1 (6)

Point(s): 0]

“Kek, pitiful sum.” Karas chuckled as his own pitiful stats. The maximum stats for strength is actually little, not much away from the number 2, it’s actually 15!

Most of the strongest bodybuilders would get a maximum of 13 to 14, but the strongest man had only barely passed the 15 marks. Meanwhile, intelligence is measured differently, the maximum intelligence a person can possess or have ever came closer to is 250, the maximum is 1,000 through the brain’s maximum capacity.

Figure models then are around 7~12, while normal folks are 4~6, then, there are those that is like Karas, below 3, the lazy ones.

He has an unhealthy body, he weighs around 112 kg, something even rare, he then sighed: “System, answer me.”

[Note: Host can only ask three questions every month, each additional question will need to be paid by 1,000,000 gis or something equivalent.

An Unanswerable question will still cost you a chance.]

Gis = the current currency of this world, well, that will only last after that 4 years.

Karas sighed: “What’s this ( ) and [ ] for?”

[The ( ) shows the amount of damage one can do through other means, example for you is, falling down a cliff hitting a sleeping beast, you will deal the same amount of strength as a 4 str human,

while the [ ] is something that the host had through unknown methods.]

Karas couldn’t help but be speechless, he then looked at his stomach and tried to shake it, like the monstrous sea, it started to wave for a few seconds before it stopped: “Well, damn, I didn’t think I’d see you again.”

“That defense must be me catching my a knife with this fat blog of mine. Kekek.”

He smirked as he started to stand up and laid on the bed and started doing pull-ups, he can’t do push-ups, so yeah, that’s his only option, and running.

“Turning back time from twenty years, not bad.”

“Oh, right, what are those points for?” Karas asked.

But after waiting for a while, nobody replied: “Uh, system, what are those points in the lowest part of my status window?”

[Point(s): are used as the system’s only currency for both rewards and purchasing from the store.
There are currently only two ways to earn points from your current system;
1. Kill monsters
2. Do missions
3. Selling stuff or money. (2 gis = 1point)]

“One more question then, better reserve it and use it for the end of the month…” Karas had played his fair share of games, hence, he most likely wouldn’t need anything…

“Alt+k?” He uttered, but nothing happened: “Uhh… Skill window?”

Another window appeared, but it literally blanks.

“Well, just exercise then, I need to remove this fat slob out of my system!” But before he continued, he remembered: “Store window!”

There, in front of him, a much wider window appeared, filled with so many nonsensical things he had never seen or heard before. “The heck…”

He then sorted the from lowest to highest, he couldn’t help but frown at the lowest ones: “Energy drink… costs two points…”

He then looked at the options, weapon, armor, consumables, gems, etc. “Well…”

He clicked on the weapon and looked at the lowest one.

Name: Samurai Sword
Rarity: Common
Attk: 9~12
Attr: +1 Agi
Price: 118 points.

“Well, I don’t even want to look at the ones at the end now.” Karas muttered before continuing his exercise.

Summer Vacation, mid-year, three months before the school begins again.

Karas is an orphan. When an orphan turns fourteen, they will be kicked out of the orphanage to live on their own, still, the government will support them until they graduate from the university, of course, if they turned to be nothing but mediocre, they can only serve the military as a lower-ranked soldier, never be promoted unless they are to do something great.

Each orphan will have an allowance of four hundred gis, with a dorm that is shared by thirty thousand other orphans.

This is called the ‘No useless one amongst us’ project, because, it will be better to have many sacrificial lambs on a battlefield than to have them loiter around each city.

Truthfully, this solved the ‘poverty’ of the world Eros, in just twenty years, there are no more homeless people, but then, they were replaced to be slaves of the Empire.

At the very least, they at least still get their 200 gis a month, something they couldn’t get as a homeless beggar.

Karas was a normal soldier from his previous life. When he was only in his 2nd year in his university life, a sudden catastrophe happened, aliens arrived from the world, the people panicked, but when the military approached the landing site, they were greeted by nothing but dead lifeforms.

No heartbeat, nor any signs of breathing, but then, it happened…

The aliens started to have their body convulse repeatedly with their body unexpectedly growing bigger until it exploded, releasing a black type of gas while splashing their white-colored blood from those near it, soon, many more such cases of these aliens followed, landing all over the World, doing the exact same thing hundreds of thousands of times over!

Those that were nearby the explosion were immediately sent to be quarantined but to their shock, it’s doing nothing, really, just… enhancing one’s own body, making it possible to surpass human limits!

They thought that it was the breakthrough of a new discovery, a revolutionary life, well, they weren’t wrong at the very least, but they didn’t consider something, that, it wasn’t only the humans being infected by it, even the animals, insects, and other living beings!

Human beings, couldn’t cope up with the sudden evolution, while other living beings could, because unlike the human race… they, had always, been living, to survive while killing others.

It took five years, for them to figure out that the other living beings grew stronger by eating other infected beings! And the easiest prey for them are… humans that are panicking.

Karas, a normal university student at that time, due to his lazy personality, was drafted to the military to fight and defend for ‘peace’, but after two years, when the resources started to grow thin, he was one of the first to be exiled.

The military’s only duty is to protect those higher up officials and high tier citizens.

Those that were exiled grouped together, he tried to live by being their cook. At first, it was a great group, saying that as exiles, they should work together and never leave each other, but it only took three months before this change.

It became another survival to the fittest, many had been dying, continuously suffering from trying to hunt their own food to bring back, they then thought, why should they let useless people join their group?

Especially Karas, who ate almost four times the amount of an ordinary man can eat! It was discovered too, that in his room, there are stocks of meat ready to be eaten!

They always wondered why Karas wasn’t getting any thinner, it was because he was decreasing the meat from all the food he cooks! He was thrown with other useless men amongst the group.

But Karas managed to survive, after three years of being alone, he became extremely fit, his body filled with a thick layer of muscles, he survived alone, but how?

Because of the meat he had eaten, he had grown stronger, day and night, he had eaten evolved monster’s meat!

He had lived quite nicely, ignoring the pleas and cries of others whenever he passes them, for the whole twenty years, he managed to survive, until that one fateful day, that he met… A Dragon!
