This caused the two to sigh. Loyee decided to start.

“ I have to give you a unique classification. Make up an entirely new set of rules for dealing with you. I have to go through everything to get it right, but it appears you can only have five mobs and one boss at a time. So you can go outside your dungeon, just not too far, or you might be considered invasive. Other races do not like invasive dungeons. Bad taboos from the old pantheons. I will have a helper send you some info after I leave to get started.”

“ And I think that you have proved already you can not self reproduce. It should not take me long to make some guidelines if your ‘little fellas’ decide to have babies with those not you. Going to also put some restraints on the mass spread of seed as well. You are too new to the world, as funny as that sounds considering you are over fifty thousand years old.”

Loyee could not help but snicker to that.

“Anyways, I think I will have whatever species you mate with retaining their heritage of the other parent. Having a bunch of mortals with the label of ‘half breed dungeon core’ would cause a whole slew of problems.”

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

Loyee only nods to this.

“ Anyways, normally your mobs, those horny lizards of you, will have indefinite lifespans, but I think I will change it up. Give them a normal Kobold life cycle. Still going to limit you on five, however. Well, your boss, since you have not got one yet, I will do the same for whatever species you decide for it.”

With that, she then closes her eyes and nods her head in thought as plans seem to start coming together. Then she was gone.

“ It is like this, you are new to this, so you got to tread carefully. Luckily there is nothing around for dozens of miles and you do not blow raw mana as a normal dungeon does. There is still flow, but not a gusher like your brethren. Setting yourself as a spontaneously spawned kobold settlement would not be too bad of an idea. You are sentient and you do have manners it seems. A pervert, but with manners.”

Then she was gone too. That is when I noticed the two male copies of us behind the doorway. Both of them straining themself to passing out looking at the backside of Diana. Personally I thought Loyee was cute. Menu is right up my alley but she and Vision have a thing and a relationship between different functions was confusing enough, especially when they all were you, and turning that into a triangle was just too much.

(Gold) Ah, I think you’re cute too.

My log’s background turned to a pinkish-red.

It took three days for the kobold us to realize they were hungry and start looking around for food. We the menu side of things cheered finding them doing anything new. Naturally, they did not live long. With no tools, ability or instinct. Natural selection took its course. Three died to poisonous berries, one died to a bear and the last one stumbled into a hive of insects. It took three days for them to appear again. Boss kicked them out of the cave before they can start masturbating. This group lasted a little longer. Mainly because one had the idea of a club. The group after that one did not fare much better, but it was better. While this was happening in continued repetition, I made a new friend.

Cherry, a fairy that Loyee sent to use, had all kinds of rules and regulations for us. I mean, most of them seemed obvious to us. They amounted to mainly ‘don’t be a dick’. Raiding nearby settlements of mortals, use of excessively dangerous disease, or plagues. Make some rules to follow. She really criticizes Architect on the theme he has done so far. Temple decor and structure but in one long corridor. He grumbled but admitted it was logical. So he got to work reforming the area around the core as a more spread out temple. Adding traps and treasure rooms. We menu systems unanimously agreed that dedicating it to Loyee and Diana mainly would be best. We kept a small portion dedicated to Krypt as well. It never hurts to appeal to the god of death a little.

As the months of what Cherry called Darwinism occurred, Architect finished the temple and we decided that outside the temple will be a mine. The theme being kobold miners found an ancient buried temple. This will give a reason for the mobs to stay far away from the core. Which pleased Architect the most. It also gave them something to do. If someone did manage to get past the mobs then the array of traps should cause trouble to any would-be adventurers. Naturally, to Cherry’s suggestion, we set up loot rewards. For the mobs, whatever level of technology and skill they managed to arrive before being killed would be the reward, but for the traps, it is mostly coins. We had a fun time coming up with a design. We finally decided on an outline of our core on one side and on the other the head of a kobold.

Five years passed us by in a blink of an eye. The death of the kobolds had finally slowed down. Three out of the five managed to survive the winter. The roles of the kobolds have become two deal with food, two mines and the last one stays in the makeshift structure it took several generations to build. It was here that the group finally graduated from the stone age to the copper. With copper pics and hatchets, the kobolds went forth to conquer the trees and ore veins. It should be noted, optimism is overrated.

Forty-two years. That is how long it took the kobolds to finally survive a full year. Having tools does not mean you have skills or techniques. You got to give us credit, however. We have nothing but vague concepts and Cherry insisted we learn all this on our own. Considering we are doing what humans took thousands of years to do, I think we are having decent progress. The roles are now one hunter, one forager, one cook, one miner, and one blacksmith. The forager brings wood and the miner ore to the blacksmith, which lets the blacksmith make arrowheads for the hunter. The hunter then brings meat back to the cook for them all to share. Naturally, there is more to the whole dynamic. The forager also gathers edible herbs and other plant things as well. The cook started a garden. The blacksmith also makes all the tools and the miner is the one that hauls larger loads around. Actually making him stronger than both the cook and forager combined.
