HC ch9

Time, as Chronos likes to remind us, moves on. The woman, Linsey, slowly grew used to the idea of the kobolds. Mainly for the fact that what we have been doing for Mathew was beneficial. This caused a sort of trade to begin forming between us and the humans. We wanted knowledge and she wanted stats and gear for the two of them. The first bit of knowledge is of tin. Tin is a soft metal that I had no use for, until I learned of bronze. So with that knowledge, her reward was changed from copper gear to bronze. Another thing I learned about is steel, which is made of iron. As iron is a B rank material and my nodes are limited to C, it was a rare drop, but after hundreds of years, the stockpile of it was massive. It took me half of the stockpile and all winter to figure out how to make it.

Aside from new metals, we learned several new classes. Unfortunately, most of them were combat-oriented. It began with ‘farmer’ watching Linsey training one day with the copper sword. When I say watching, I mean hiding from her sight while he had some fun. What caught us menu’s attention, and Linsey herself, is when the notice that swordsmanship was taught. We could not resist busting a gut when Linsey quickly found him and grab him by the neck while he still held his pride. What came next shocked us and ‘farmer’, Linsey placed her free hand over his and helped him finish. The next five minutes was ‘farmer’ crying mercy as she relieved her pent up desires on him. Some of it was violent, some of it not. ‘hunter’ gave him a glare that would spell any man’s doom when she got back that day. Before then, however, Diana stopped by.

“ So you finally got lucky?”

Out of reflex, I made the best fruit cocktail I could and she took it just as reflexively.

(Blue)“ While I keep a perfect record of everything around me, Diana, I am not sure that is how I want to remember losing my virginity. I still got to say I am quite surprised the second human to come here actually did that to us.”

Diana laughed after taking a sip of her drink.

“ Which is why I am here now. You will be surprised how many demi-kin are born each year because some adventurer wants some dungeon monster fun. Sadly, the chances of a child are slim with her.”

(Blue)“ Why is that?”

“ The difference in strength. The kobold seed was almost completely destroyed coming in contact with her body resistances. It is a fundamental rule of everything that engages in cardinal desire. She likely knew this, and by my guess, he is not the first one she has done to this either.”

With those words, silence prevailed between us.

“ Seriously, you’re not going to ask me?”

(Blue)“ Ask you what?”

Diana could not help but roll her eyes.

“ How do I know she has had relations with other monsters before?”

If I could smirk I would have.

(Blue)“ That is actually simple. She is an A rank, so obviously she been to a dungeon before. Training can get tiring and stressful. Especially if a woman was trained by a man. Sometimes she just wants some control.”

Again silence.

(Green)Do you two really want me to do this again?

Diana chuckled and shook her head.

“ Loyee told you something about this hasn’t she?”

(Blue)“ All living things, even dungeons, desire to leave offspring. The kobolds and Boss all want to have children. We as the menu agree that we will overwatch them because they are our own, but eventually, my time will come. My very existence is an unknown and what is an unknown as well is when I shall pass on. Do not let my core fool you either, it is a shell of its former self. The disparity between my traps and monsters is a clear indicator that I am deteriorating. It will take thousands of years more, but my time is limited.”

Diana turned to look at the hollow core setting on the statue of Loyee’s lap. It is no coincidence that she and Krypt were standing at her sides. Originally she thought it was just symbolism for the first gods the core ever met. But learning these simple facts made her change her perspective slightly.

“ I could send a few promising prospects your way? In fact, I know of several demi-kin that would love to relocate.”

I thought about it and considered it with the others.

(Blue)“ Thank you for the offer, but we are not that desperate. But now we are known, word will eventually spread to those you just mention. Of a new dungeon nation.”

I had no doubt she took the hint I was leading to. Be subtle.

It took three days for Diana to leave. It was that long for her to confirm that ‘farmer’ will not become a father, even though Linsey had been dragging the poor kobold away like a barbarian for her few minutes of fun. At first, the other kobolds were angry at him, now they only felt pity. Graduating from self-entertainment was not the only thing the kobolds been doing either. Training with weapons had begun in the morning. Then everyone would move onto their duties, with ‘farmer’ providing the teacher bonus services before tending to his farm. The youth had also caught wind of what the woman had been doing as well. After three or four years of being a boy, he too began to spy on Linsey when she would take her pleasure. The second time he went delaying on his tasks, ‘cook’ found him and started doing the same thing to him as he was doing to the others. The third time he snuck out, ‘cook’ followed him and made him more of a man. Linsey must have realized what happened as she gave the kobold a reprieve as she found more appropriate times to snatch her prey while the youth was busy with his training.

Sadly for ‘cook’ she was as fortunate as ‘farmer’ when it came to kids with the humans. He was still young and still a tier below her, and she had no natural control of her body to allow the seeds to do their job. She never had another chance as the time came that we all knew was coming.
