“For this deed. None! Try something else.”
“Chosokabes are in danger. Time is slipping from our hands. Do you want them exposed to perils?”
“You don’t understand! This is all I have got.”
Fujimoto snatched his coin bag and said, “Then consider that you have nothing to lose from this point.”
Shinji watched his wealth being distributed to those people standing ahead of them. He could do nothing except controlling his urge to punch Fujimoto into unconsciousness.
Fujimoto is trying to help me. He convinced himself while this bag started to become empty one coin after another.
Looked like Fujimoto’s plan was working.
Queue was contracting in a very short period of time.
I will not need the gold if I get inside Chosokabe’s home. Shinji was getting used to of Fujimoto’s charity now.
“Here you have it.” Fujimoto offered a coin to man on front, “Now get lost till tomorrow.”
The peasant had no problem in doing so.
Shinji followed Fujimoto to get in the house.
Tetsu sighed after seeing them once more.
“We come here by your rules.” Shinji said, “Now tell me where Nobukazu is.”
“Is your head fine, madam?” Fujimoto asked Mrs. Tetsu.
She had no intention to talk with him.
“Shinji, I am on work.” Tetsu breathed.
“So?” Shinji narrowed his eyebrows.
“Sit.” Tetsu said by pointing at a chair in front of a table. He sat in his own chair and waited for Shinji to get in the armchair at other end.
Tetsu slid a cup at his direction.
“I don’t drink.” Shinji said.
Tetsu laughed.
“I don’t expect you to drink from empty mug either.”
His eyes fell on the mug.
“Make this heavy.” Tetsu locked eyes with him.
Fujimoto came with the pouch and put two gold coins in there.
“Heavier.” grinned Tetsu.
Fujimoto leaned towards Shinji’s head and whispered, “No coins left.”
Tetsu heard it crystal clear.
“Fill this with coins till tomorrow and I will do the job for you.”
“This is outrageous.” Fujimoto snapped.
“Yes it is.”
Shinji clutched the mug and walked out of the chair.
When they were about to exit, Tetsu said, “You two can skip queue when you come tomorrow. And if you don’t have coins till tomorrow, at this time, then consider my kindness expired.”
The door closed another time but opportunity for them was still open. Shinji was looking to make large of it.
