Roderick walked to west for half an hour. He presumed Isolda wasn’t as heavy as Chopyk because he had not seen a single footprint in the way. Roderick had to rely on broken twigs and pressed grass caused by Isolda’s steps.
Leaves had started to look pink, so he knew Purple forest wasn’t very far. He marched deeper in the forest and saw the purple colour of plants getting gradually intense. Maybe Isolda was used to of taking the same route. Traces were more visible now compared to what he had seen before reaching here.
Roderick stopped, then hid behind a tree. A female demon was sitting alone inside the forest.
Isolda. He could not think of anyone else. She was twice the size of Chopyk. This is why Chopyk looked scared of her.
He felt earth vibrating and heard the noise of trees breaking in far distance. Roderick tried to hide more after seeing a male devil pushing trees to come where Isolda was sitting. The fat monster was a male, but still was much shorter than her.
The monster came towards her and planted a kiss on her lips. Roderick failed to find admiration by looking at her. Female devils were uglier than their counterparts.
Chopyk was right. She is having an affair.
When he was done kissing, the monster sniffed air like he had smelled something. Isolda pulled her head towards her, but he didn’t stop smelling air.
“Bartholomew!” she snapped at her, “What’s wrong?”
“I smelled something unusual.”
“But I can’t.” she said, kissing her.
This time, Bartholomew didn’t look for the smell. When he closed his eyes, Roderick came out of his hiding place and ran out from there, causing little to no sound.
In no time he reached behind the pyramid where Chopyk was waiting for his arrival. Just by observing Roderick’s expressions, he could tell he had bad news to spill.
“You are right. She is having an affair.” Roderick gasped.
“So am I.” Chopyk said.
A female devil came from the trees.
“Meet Cicily.” Chopyk said.
“Both of you are having affairs? Great!” Roderick clapped once, “You two can part ways now. Do divorce.”
“Divorce is different for devils.” Chopyk explained, “Devils’ Court doesn’t make judgment on a male’s favor most of the times.”
“So what do you want?”
“Make Isolda break-up with me.”
“Are you okay with this?” Roderick glanced at Cicily.
“More than okay.” She answered.
“Would you like to be pivot point for their break-up?” Roderick rubbed his palms.
“Why not?”
“Great. I will trick Bartholomew to come in your residence. Then you hug and kiss him. I will make sure Isolda sees all this happen.” said Roderick. “And it their relation will be over.”
Chopyk was not comfortable with the idea, but he chose to agree.
“How will you lure him to Black Cube?” he asked.
“I will write him a love letter on her behalf.” Roderick smirked, “Paper and quill please.”
“We write on animal skin by blood.” Chopyk said.
“Do we have any of those here?”
“I think I have it in the cave nearby.”
