Queenish 10

Following the road seemed to have worked because they reached in a village. Roderick was the center of attention with all those crying babies.
“Stop embarrassing me. Don’t cry!” Roderick screamed at the crying babies.
Women looked at Roderick, carrying babies with wonder. He thought he was a living, breathing joke when he found many blushing women walking behind him.
“Don’t cry! Or I will throw you s**** in this well!” he pointed at a well but the babies didn’t stop crying.
“Please don’t throw them here.” Woman behind him said. She seemed to plead.
“I didn’t mean it.” Roderick glanced at her.
“Your babies want milk.” Women said.
“I don’t have breasts.”
“Give them to us. We will breast feed them. All of us can lactate.”
Roderick hesitated once. He didn’t know where to look when those women stripped their torsos to expose their breasts. They squeezed their breasts to show him milk dripping from their nipples.
“Alright. Take them. I don’t want to see your tits.” Roderick gave the babies to them and watched babies have milk.
“Thank you, women.” Roderick said to them.
“We should be more thankful for you. No woman here ever had opportunity to breastfeed a child.” She said.
“Why so?”
“A witch cursed this village that every child whom we give birth to will die immediately after birth.”
Roderick noticed something different in the babies. Their hair had started to grow thicker. He even saw teeth coming out from their gums.
“They are growing!” Roderick got delighted. In this rate, they were going to become adults within few hours, “Feed them more. I have to take them with me.”
Women stopped giving them milk after hearing it.
“No, we won’t let you take them away.” They snapped at him.
“Why not? They are not your children.”
“Go away or we will have to hurt you.” Women stood up.
“Give me those children or you will be the one to get hurt.”
The women stood up in anger. Their skin color darkened and their bodies shrank in size. Roderick didn’t know what was going on till wings came out from their backs.
Now they looked no different from life sized bats. Looking at them in this form, Roderick forgot about the babies and ran for his life.
