Meanwhile,
Lieutenant somehow had managed to untie his hands. Then he untied his legs very soon. He did not understand why people were rushing out of the camp.
I will kill this assistant. Zombified Lieutenant cursed him.
He heard some faint loud noise from outside. Perhaps someone was speaking from a speaker. Lieutenant began searching for the cure which he had seen assistant give to Roderick.
“Which colour was it?” He raged by looking at tubes on table, “Pink and light or dark green?”
He couldn’t choose.
“Pink and dark green….” He heard assistant’s voice echo from outside.
Lieutenant didn’t know what this mess was about so he went on to mix it with pink liquid and injected it in his arm. He felt heat growing inside his body. It did not decrease but went on to a higher level.
What is going on?
Lieutenant watched his body swell.
Outside,
“I still have the papers. Think before you shoot me.” Roderick said.
A bullet whistled near his ear.
“I am warning you!” Roderick tightened his grip on fragile paper.
There was a huge explosion inside the camp. Everything went dazzling bright. Roderick covered his eyes to avoid blindness.
The flames calmed down after a while. It was the time when Roderick laughed. Dots were not on his body anymore.
“Now come here and take your papers.” Roderick announced and began flipping the pages:
How to upload software in super computer?
Guiding beginners through hexadecimal programming.
Binary numbers and its implications in –
“Holy Mary!” Roderick’s eyes tore apart.
It was a text about computers. Maybe a computer manual.
What have I done? Roderick fell in shock. I stole wrong document. Now the cure was burning somewhere in camp. Roderick took out a sleeping pill which he had stolen and swallowed it.
A minute later some officials came there.
“There it is. He has dropped it.” Officer pointed at the paper.
SUPER COMPUTERS FOR SPACE PROJECTS.
They read the title.
“He cheated us!” One man roared and began searching for Roderick.
All they found of him was the megaphone.
