Summoned Heroes I

When I came to my senses, I found myself in what seems to be a throne room along with the other group of students and a single teacher. Surrounding us, there are people dressed in a long black cloak covering their whole figure like what I imagined a magician would be in a fantasy fiction. On the floor I was standing, I could see a familiar magic circle flickering for a moment before it disappeared completely out of sight.

“Success…”

“The Heroes Summoning, it’s a success!”

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

“We..did it!”

With my sharp hearing, I could hear what the strange people hidden in cloaks muttered and strangely, I could understand what they were saying despite never hearing such a strange language in my life. Upon suddenly finding myself onto unfamiliar surroundings along with strange people surrounding me, I tightly embraced my sister while letting my gazes wander around the spacious throne room.

The group of cloak people aside, my eyes couldn’t move away the moment I caught a fierce-looking old man seated calmly on the throne. I can’t be wrong to assume the old man to be a king with a golden crown on top of his head. Furthermore, the old man gives off dangerous vibes to me with just his presence alone, which speaks volume of how dangerous the current situation really is.

It doesn’t matter what their intention is as, at the end of it, I’m pretty sure it won’t end well for me if I decided to go against the old man there. I guess I’ll keep my mouth shut for now and let the students deal with the problem by themselves. As if following on cue, the rat—, I mean Isamu, stepped forward and started calming the other students with his overflowing charisma.

“Everyone! Please calm down and listen to me for a moment.”

When the students heard Isamu speaking toward them, they automatically stopped whatever they were panicking a moment before and directed their questioning gaze at him. With all the gazes on him, Isamu appeared nonchalant and calm as if he’s used to such attention. If it was someone else, they would’ve shrunk immediately the moment they received this kind of attention on them.

Isamu has most likely gotten used to having such attention for his remarkable talent and look at high school that he wasn’t fazed even at a time like this. Even the people who panicked the most would eventually calm down after gazing at his cool yet determined attitude.

“I know that all of you are very confused at this moment, so do I. After all, we were just in our class a moment ago but the next thing we knew, we’re all here. It would have been weird if we didn’t panic after experiencing something as crazy as this.”

The students nodded their heads in agreement.

“Though it is within expectation, it also wasn’t a good thing that we all ended up panicking. Now, imagine this; what if the people surrounding us decided to attack us disregarding what we were feeling at that time? I don’t need to explain further on what would have happened to us if that was the case, would I?”

They couldn’t help but swallow a mouthful of saliva as their face starts to lose its color upon imagining such a scene in their mind.

Death.

It is without a doubt that it would have been their fate if not for Isamu calming them down at that instant. After all, when people panic, they can do worse than one can ever imagine. If they accidentally insult the King, their fate is sealed right at that moment.

“That’s right, Heroes.”

Suddenly, a solemn voice resound throughout the throne room, startling all the students as they immediately look up toward the source of the voice. It was none other than the fierce-looking old man seated in a luxury golden throne, Albert Kingson VI, the King of Xathaso Kingdom.

Some of the timid students quickly looked away the moment their eyes caught upon the King as the longer they stared at him, the more likely they were going to be in danger, that was what their instinct told them. They were clearly intimidated by the King’s dominating presence.

It felt like they were nothing but a timid deer that was being stared at by a dragon, that’s right, it isn’t just a mere lion.

“Though it is no doubt part of our fault, I—no, our country desperately needed heroes, someone with unparalleled power like all of you.” The king stated.

“Heroes? Us?” Isamu asked with a bewildered look on his face. The same goes to the other students, to be called as Heroes so suddenly, of course they would be confused. Though some couldn’t help but visibly excited, these students are clearly a massive otaku.

Despite feeling offended at his disrespectful action toward their ruler, the soldiers couldn’t do anything but shut themselves the moment the King signaled them with a wave of his hand.

“Yes. Every one of you here holds precious power, a power that would soon surpass this world’s residents in terms of growth, all because of the God’s Gift. There’s nothing to be surprises about, after all, you’re all chosen ones. That is one of the reasons you were summoned by us.”

Upon hearing the King’s words, the students could feel their heart racing. Why wouldn’t they? If they hadn’t realized it before, now they do with the help of the King. It’s every man childhood’s dream, being a hero with supernatural power. It’s definitely not because of harem, not at all.

“Then what were the other reasons?” The King’s words sounds too sweet to be true, Isamu couldn’t hide his doubt and asked the question many other students have in their mind. As the saying goes, ‘There is no free food in the world’, there has to be a price to be made.

“It will take a while for that, plus, this isn’t a good place for such occasions. Why don’t you all follow the group of maids waiting behind you to a more cosy room? All of you must be tired, good food should do the trick. Don’t worry, someone will be there soon to explain everything.” As the King commanded, the maids bow their heads before taking a leave, followed by a group of students.

“How are they?” The King softly whispered once the students disappeared out of his sight.

“Excellent, Your Majesty. Every one of them have stats higher than average people of this world, the Pope truly didn’t lie to us. Especially the leading boy, he’s a special case.”

“Is that so?” A smile emerged on the King’s fierce face upon hearing the good news from his right-hand man. Finally, the day has come.
