Sitting behind, Sun Ying’s eyes almost rolled to the heavenly gates when she saw that it was Su Mian. Su Mian really could not stop, afraid that her mother would not remember her.
During the two days off, Zhang Hai Ying had praised Su Mian everyday and Sun Ying had even suspected that Su Mian was her long-lost sister.
Su Mian tore a blank piece of paper from her notebook and went up to the podium. There were five answers in a row and each one had four options; A, B, C, and D. Su Mian put the blank paper on top of the answer sheet, then marked the correct answer for each question up until the 105th question.
“What is Su Mian doing? Doesn’t she know that teachers are not allowed to ask students to help mark papers now?”
“Maybe she is giving an idea!”
“What good idea could she have? The English teachers have always judged the answers one by one for so many years.”
“Maybe Su Mian did not do well in the English exams and is using this opportunity to get a better result?”
“What you said makes sense!”
The surrounding students discussed and Sun Ying watched as Su Mian got close to her mother on the podium. She was so angry that her grimace almost reached her ears.
“What is she doing? She’s trying to please your mother again. Surely she’s not trying to take this opportunity to change her grades!” Zhang Yan Jie watched for a long time but still could not understand what Su Mian was intending. This Su Mian was really something, taking advantage of having a good impression on the English teacher to try and help the teacher mark papers. She did not even think about how strict the marking process was now. Even if the English teacher liked her even more, she could not let Su Mian help her mark papers. If she wanted to take this opportunity to change her grades, then it was really wishful thinking. So many students were watching.
“As if, how will she have this opportunity?!” Sun Ying was suddenly in a good mood and her mouth twitched. Zhang Yan Jie was right. Su Mian might really have done badly in the exams this time and in order to keep her role of leading the readings, she must be trying to please her mother.
Thinking of this, Sun Ying stood up and said, “Su Mian, what are you doing? It’s been several minutes. Could it be that you did not do well in the English exam and are trying to change your grades while my mother is not paying attention?!”
The classroom had originally been quiet and Sun Ying’s voice was clear. The entire class heard it and then everyone started talking.
“That’s it!”
“No wonder she’s so enthusiastic!”
“So she really didn’t do well!”
“I said that last time when she ranked 20th in the class, she had gotten lucky. Let’s see how well she did this time?”
There would always be mischievous people in the class. Su Mian disregarded what others said and still unhurriedly cut out small squares in places she had marked.
After finishing, she handed it to Zhang Hai Ying, “Teacher, put this over each student’s answers and this way, you can tell which one is correct at a glance.”
Zhang Hai Ying still did not understand. Su Mian had already put the paper with small holes neatly over the paper she needed to mark.
Oh, so it could be like this!
Zhang Hai Ying finally understood Su Mian’s intentions. Like this, she would not need to keep turning her head from side to side to read the answers, “This method of yours is quite good. I have been marking papers for so many years but did not think of this. How did you think of it?” Now, she only needed to count the correct answers from the cut out holes. Her workload had been greatly reduced.
The students all looked confused. What did Teacher Zhang mean? Su Mian had just cut a few holes on a paper, but it was able to help the teacher mark papers!
Excitedly, Zhang Hai Ying raised the answer template that Su Mian had made, “Student Su Mian really likes to use her brain. This small piece of paper solved such a big problem for me. Thank you, Student Su Mian!”
As Zhang Hai Ying put the paper with holes on the student’s answer sheet, everyone’s eyes lit up.
This method was so simple! It saved so much work!
It turned out that they all blamed Su Mian wrongly just now. She really had just been feeling sorry for the English teacher.
