Chapter 69: Rejection

If she didn’t know Zhao Bo in her previous life, she would definitely agree without hesitation this time.

In this life, she wanted to continue nurturing the fate of mentoring and apprenticeship with Zhao Bo, repaying him for his kindness in her previous life.

Sometimes people were like this. Only after you had lived, would you know who was sincere to you, and fortunately, she now had this opportunity.

The Second Military Medical University where Zhao Bo was located was far away in the capital. It was one of the ranked universities. It was so much harder to get into compared to the Military District General Hospital.

However, Wei Zhen Hui’s army was located on the outskirts of the provincial capital, only a two-hour drive from the Military District Medical University.

Choosing the Second Military Medical University meant that she would be apart from Wei Zhen Hui for at least 4 years.

Su Mian looked at Wei Zhen Hui and wondered if he would complain if he had to wait for her for four years.

Wei Zhen Hui was standing with his back upright, and his dark eyes were filled with warmth that he himself hadn’t even noticed.

The little lady looked at him, obviously, caring about his mood. Wei Zhen Hui lifted the corner of his lips, and then looked at Su Mian with an underscore of worry.

Wei Min told him that Su Mian’s grades were similar to Wei Min’s, and they were the last few in the class. There was a chance that she would not even be able to pass the college entrance examination, let alone get into a ranked university of the country.

He was worried that Su Mian would miss this opportunity, so…

But looking at Su Mian, she just stood there firmly under the sun. Her eyes were unyielding, and when she saw him look over, she even gave him a fierce look.

This girl…

Su Mian knew that she had poor academic performance in the past. As Wei Min’s eldest brother, it was not surprising for Wei Min to have already told him about her bad grades.

But that was before, and she would work hard in the future.

Looking back at Su Mian again, her originally stubborn little face had been replaced with a calm and indifferent one, which was rare at her age.

She could do it, Wei Zhen Hui suddenly had this idea!

Sure enough, Su Mian said, “Commander, thank you for the kindness of the country, but my ambition has always been getting into the Second Military Medical University. I want to pass the entrance examination with my own ability.” She knew that once she said this, she would never again be able to go back on her words.

So, this was a rejection?

Everyone was stunned and felt regret for her.

Unexpectedly, the lady refused so easily. They really wanted to go up to her and ask if she knew what great opportunity she just refused.

Military universities had always been a popular choice for college entrance examinations, and they were also the best choice for students from poor families. As long as you were recruited into it,  you would be given an allowance. You didn’t need to get money from your family and could even supplement the family income.

Although the Military District Medical University was not comparable to the Second Military Medical University, it was still a provincially-ranked university.

How many students had dreamed of getting into this university, yet she just gave it up like that, and even wanted to test in instead. That was a nationally-ranked university. Was she so sure that she could make it?

This lady was too confident!

Zhao Bo pursed his lips, knowing that he did misjudge her, this little lady had big ambitions in her heart.

That was also fine. The Second Military Medical University was second to none of the medical universities in the country. It had good lecturers and enormous resources. In particular, its battlefield surgery was extremely reputable in the world.

If Su Mian could be recruited, maybe she could even form a mentorship with him!

“Have you thought about it thoroughly? Don’t cry when you can’t test in at that time.” Zhao Bo admired Su Mian even more, her tenacity was just like a soldier.

“Yes.” Su Mian nodded and replied eagerly, “I will not let you down, but I want some simple medical equipment for the villagers’ medical examinations!”

Zhao Bo didn’t expect Su Mian to make such a request, but he still granted it. He couldn’t finish spending the research funds every year, so it could be regarded as doing something for the people.

The group of people left in a hurry, while Su Mian and Su Jiang Hai and his wife also returned to the house.

He Qin and Su Jiang Hai were depressed and did not say a word. It would be a lie if they said they didn’t mind at all. That was indeed the Military District Medical University, yet their daughter refused just like that.
