chapter – 158 – ınfinity

Epsilon was not among those who would feel too bad for him after knowing his shortcomings by learning about the more powerful things out there. It was true that compared to a Law Being, he was weaker but that meant nothing in his eyes. Several reasons boosted his self-confidence. The first among these was that he trusted his imagination capability. Until now, all the spells, except for a couple that he learned for the first time when he was too much of an amateur, were produced and created himself. All spell creation processes involved a large amount of skill and imagination.

The imagination needed in spell creating would help Epsilon significantly in making the spell successful. Epsilon was well aware of this.

The second reason for his conviction, and perhaps the bigger reason, was that learning the law too needed ‘knowledge’ for more power and an increase in comprehension percentage rate. All the spells Epsilon created were not just because of his imagination or his magic energy level. The imagination and his magic energy level were important but in the end, the spell was not created because of these two things but because of the information and knowledge that Epsilon added to these. Epsilon knew that without using the information from Earth, almost none of his spells would be effective.

Epsilon was done with his self-introspection and got up to prepare himself a tea. It was morning and there his domain was silent and peaceful. After the departure of the Green Spiders race, there were not many noises of living beings other than birds and the soft sounds of the forest.

As Epsilon gazed forward, he thought that he first needed to choose what kind of law he wanted to focus on and how many.

Did he want to choose a singular law with a high-level power like the ‘Time Law’ or did he want to choose several laws and use them with different tactics to gather more power and more fighting capability?

Epsilon closed his eyes as various thoughts came to his mind. Then, he smiled.

Dear Readers. Scrapers have recently been devasting our views. At this rate, the site (creativenovels .com) might...let's just hope it doesn't come to that. If you are reading on a scraper site. Please don't.

“The Law Beings with many laws are the ones who believed that they could not find enough information and knowledge on the high-level laws. This should be the reason why they chose several but easier laws.”

“I do have the confidence in myself that I can find the adequate knowledge of the law I will choose. But what should I choose that will still be strong but not in the realm of time, space and dimension…”

At this time, Epsilon gasped as some words from the book struck his thoughts. The law can be anything, even concepts and thoughts.

He smirked and decided to take a different approach to the law section. The concept of things can be anything and their power forms based on what they symbolize. When this kind of approach was considered, even a symbol can be chosen as a law.

“What I value the most, is my life. Therefore, as long as I have my life and a functional mind, I will not fear anything. I can improve without restrains and restrictions as long as I am breathing.”

With these thoughts, Epsilon knew what he wanted. His plan for learning laws was simple. He will create and choose many laws but they would not be ordinary laws but concept-laws and symbolic-laws. Essentially laws that did not exist but symbolized a thought. Inspirational and ambitious quotes could also be applied here.

After taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Epsilon closed his eyes and started forming a triangle shape in his head. He already had a plan in mind. For immortality or at least the chance of not being in constant mortal peril, he would choose the ‘Mobius strip’ that could give his dimensional power an added advantage as well.

Mobius strip was a one-sided surface that could be constructed by affixing the ends of a rectangular strip after first having given one of the ends a one-half twist. This space exhibited interesting properties, such as having only one side and remaining in one piece when split down the middle.

A Mobius strip was a never-ending strip. The infinity symbol (from the heart, or an infinity image) is one example of the Mobius strip. The easiest way to understand a Mobius Strip was to imagine a long strip of paper. Now imagine twisting it once, and bringing the two ends together to form a loop. That’s a Mobius strip.

If you were to draw a line lengthwise down the middle of the strip, starting at the point where the two ends met, you would start on the outside of the loop. The line would then move to the inside at the twist, and come back to the joint but on the backside from where it started. You could continue to draw the line, twisting back towards the outside at the twist to eventually end up where you started in a complete unbroken line that was twice as long as the space it took.

As long as there was an odd number of twists, this was what would happen when one tried to draw that line. A Mobius strip was used to reference the more traditional infinity symbol, which stood for ‘infinite love’, but instead of the normal figure-8 design, it was turned into a triangle shape. This reference was to several other groups that the poly-community had connections to such as the gay community with its pink triangle, the lesbian/feminist community with the black triangle, the bi-community with its three-looped symbol and the double triangles, and even, albeit very distantly, the reference to the top/bottom/switch triskelion with its three-pointed design.

The color purple was chosen because purple seemed to be a common color choice in many poly designs, as well as a featured color in the gay pride movement and the bisexual symbols. The direction of the points also referenced the heart symbol of the traditional heart and infinity as well as the direction of the various triangles of the other alternative sexuality movements.

All the references together were supposed to add up to symbolize ‘infinite love’ and ‘alternative sexuality’ by nodding towards all those groups and subcultures and symbols that came before it.
