After killing the Anderium Deer, Nick was taking deep breaths. He was not affected too much; compared to killing another human being, killing a wild animal was not hard at all.
Nick did not need the deer’s carcass. He wanted to wipe off his traces, but he did not want to waste the dead deer. Therefore, he threw the deer’s body into the river, and watched it slowly enter the current and vanish.
Nick believed that at least fishes and other water creatures would eat the deer and it would have some use. If he had a safe place, he would have experimented on the deer’s corpse himself.
Right now, however, he was still on the run. As long as he does not feel safe, he would not conduct experiments because he knew how time consuming that would be. His mind brimmed with ideas because of the technological viewpoint he got from living on Earth. He wanted to combine this with magic to create new things.
“I should not stop any longer, I have no time to waste here.”
Before Nick resumed moving towards his destination according to plan, he checked his status to see whether there were any improvements.
‘Nick’
‘Level 2 – Imper Mage’
‘Physical Capability = 1.5’
‘INT’ = 2.1
‘Magical Ability’
‘Life Siphon – 60%’
‘Energy Bolt – ‘Completed’
Nick smiled after he checked his status. The improvement was alright. Even his physical power had upgraded because of the all-day running.
He started moving towards his planned direction. A couple of hours later, he saw a creature that was not a creature at all.
By all means, it looked like a zombie but with less damage to the body. Maybe a walking corpse of some sort.
The creature did not have any weapon and was pretty much dead already. Nick could smell its stench even though there was a distance of 10-15 meters between them.
System sent a notification and opened a status window for Nick.
‘Undead’
‘Level 1’
‘Passive Abilities’
‘Heightened Physical Power – Senses’
‘No Stamina’
Nick saw the creature’s abilities, saw the name ‘Undead’, and took a deep breath. The creature had already spotted him and started slowly moving towards Nick. He was lucky that the speed was slow, about the same as that of a human being walking.
Nick did not wait; he looked at the head of the undead and whispered in his mind.
‘Energy Bullet’
As he whispered, an Energy Bullet manifested directly in front of him and shot towards to head of the undead creature. In less than a second, the Energy Bullet hit the undead creature’s head.
The creature dropped to the ground and its head cracked open. Nick was happy to see that he could kill an undead using his spell, but reality proved he was celebrating too soon.
The undead slowly got up and started walking towards Nick again. Nick gulped and shook his head, blaming himself for his stupidity.
“These creatures are not alive like humans and animals. Adding that they have heightened physical power, it is only natural that one Energy Bullet is not enough to kill them.”
Nick cast another ‘Energy Bullet’ spell, and marked the target with his eyes. If the creature was not too fast, it would hit.
‘Fiiuv’
Another Energy Bullet manifested in front of him and shot towards the undead’s head, exactly at the same spot where the first Energy Bullet had hit and cracked its skull.
This time, the undead creature was not so lucky as the Energy Bullet had exploded its head and killed it completely.
The undead dropped still on the ground. Its head had blasted open, and Nick was certain it would not get up again. He was feeling excited, but not scared. He was not scared because he was accustomed to stressful events from his time on Earth. He was excited because he had just cast a magic spell to kill a creature that had its name in almost every fantasy book!
As he mused over these things, he heard a sound but had not reacted in time. A white arrow pierced his left shoulder and got out from the other side. It essentially left him crippled.
Nick screamed in pain and tried to hold his left arm. He searched where the arrow came from and noticed an undead. But this one was different; it was holding a bow and an arrow.
‘Undead Archer’
‘Level 2’
‘Passive Abilities’
‘Good Eyesight’
‘Marksmanship Level 1’
‘No Stamina’
Nick started darting left and right. His eyes searched a tree, so that he could hide from the arrows. The undead archer pulled the bowstrings and took another shot at Nick. This time its target was Nick’s head.
Nick was lucky. He managed to hide behind a tree and escaped the arrow. He took a deep breath, cast more than three ‘Energy Bullets’ spells, and looked at the head of the undead. All the Energy Bullets shot at the same time.
Three Energy Bullets manifested in front of Nick and shot towards the undead archer. All hit the creature’s head, completely annihilating it in the process. After Nick was sure that it was killed, he examined his shoulder injury.
A bone arrow was still sticking out from his left shoulder. He knew that the arrow had stopped the bleeding, so the best thing was to not take it out at the moment.
“What can I do!”
Nick’s brain began working at maximum speed and at this time, he had an idea.
“Use magic, create a f****** healing spell!”
He took a deep breath and began considering what kind of spell he should create to treat his wound. What kind of imagination and knowledge would help him to use magical energy for healing?
The injury and the adrenaline rush probably made him smarter than usual because, within seconds, he had zeroed down on the idea and had imagined the process for his healing spell.
‘Heal Wounds Spell’
‘Point the magical energy into the right hand’
+ ‘Control the magical energy and imagine holding a white cloth’
+ ‘Use the magical energy to repair the wound with the cloth’
+ ‘Use the magical energy to apply to the effect of Augmentin antibiotics and imagine using the Augmentin medicine for after effects’
– Augmentin – ‘Amoxicillin-clavulanate (Augmentin) Antibiotic Medicine’
Nick realized this spell would not work as an antibiotic, but it should still help him.
