Nick was ecstatic. He was near breathless with excitement — his first teleportation attempt was a success. The results exceeded his expectations, leaving him shocked with joy.
This was exactly the outcome he wanted. The ability worked well. It did not consume too much magical energy and not only was it good for him but it was also an easy-to-understand spell.
While he classified Portal Teleportation as his ‘ability’, in reality, it was a spell that many would kill for.
He could now either use Ether Stones or if he had enough magical energy then that, to teleport to any place he could remember with enough amount of detail. There was a real use-case for this spell and at the same time, he had an incredible amount of fun.
“With this new ability, I have no reason to be scared of anyone. If I cannot win, then I can escape by teleportation.”
While Nick did bask in the glory of the moment, he was aware at the back of his mind, that this was not the best way to plan for anything. If he can teleport, then there would be beings in the universe, or maybe even within the continent, who could block his teleportation ability.
If he wanted to do it, for example, he could create a spell that blocked space and his enemy’s teleportation ability. As long as the opponent did not use any other kind of teleportation, such as Quantum Teleportation, or any such that did not use space to teleport, then there would be no problem for him to block teleportation.
And for that matter, for his enemy to block his teleportation.
It was unlikely, but there was still a chance that he would be faced with an enemy that was well-versed with this kind of a teleportation spell, and already had a counter-spell for it.
Nick was still in his high-achiever mood when there was an urgent knock on his door and two Werfur maids immediately entered. One of them anxiously began talking. This itself was a shock for Nick because he was not accustomed to Werfurs speak with strong emotions. On most occasions, he had only seen their calm demeanor.
“Lord Epsilon, we need your assistance. There is a battle going on between Rabial and his team against creatures from the demon world in the Underbroom Cave.”
Nick furrowed his brows with concern and nodded. The maids were going to show him the way out of the Anderium Base but something they never expected, happened.
A blue circle-shaped manifested on Nick’s body and within seconds he vanished, leaving two extremely confused Werfurs staring stupidly at an empty room.
—
On the other side, Nick opened his eyes and was immediately faced with the battle. Rabial, who had already noticed him, came to his side.
“Epsilon, how come you are here already? I just sent a message!”
Epsilon laughed a little and answered.
“Long story, but first tell me, what is the situation here?”
Rabial calmed himself and reported.
“We opened the door in the Underbroom Cave. The moment we did that, different kinds of demons came out of the door. There are more than 500 demons; most of them are mele-type imps. There are some fire-mage demons as well. We are only 100 Werfur mages here and I already lost more than 20 at the hands of these demons.”
Nick took a deep breath. It was time to use his newly created spell. He summoned five Anubites. Rabial, who by now should have been used to Nick’s shocking feats, could still not hide his expression in time. But he at least managed to remain silent. After all, he was considerably accustomed to Epsilon doing things that he could neither imagine nor understand.
Nick ordered the Anubites.
“Attack and kill the demons.”
Nick took this time to take a good look at the battlefield. The Imp Mele Demons were the size of a human child; their black claws were overgrown and had a sharpness that was obvious to the naked eye.
Fire-Demon Mages were creatures that looked completely like humans but with orange skin and overgrown ears & noses and were about 170 cm in height. They cast fireball spells at such speed that it looked like they did not need breaks or use magical energy.
At Nick’s orders, the Anubites jumped into action. The Anubites were too strong compared to Imp Mele Demons.
One of the Anubites started running deep inside the cave. Every time it swung its sickle, it killed more than three to four demons.
Nick did not leave everything to the Anubites. He knew it would most likely not be possible for them to deal with it all. He took a deep breath and whispered.
“Sonic Bullets.”
The spell was cast and more than 50 Sonic Bullets manifested in front of him. Each one first targeted the Fire Demon mage’s heads and then the Imp Melee Demons. Within less than a second, a loud sound resonated in the forest and all the Sonic Bullets shot towards their targets.
“Bump!”
“Blurp!”
In the next moment, Sonic Bullets’ sound receded and was replaced by a series of explosion sounds.
With a single attack, almost all demons and fire-mages were killed. Their attacks were powerful but their numbers were not much.
Nick noticed 20 Imp Demons attacking an Anubite. The Anubite was fast and killed them easily but even an Anubite could not withstand 20 Imp Demons. Under their excessive attacks, the first Anubite died.
Nick was not scared though. In 10 seconds, he summoned another one. As long as he had magical energy or Ether Stones, this was not a problem for him.
As all of this was happening, the Werfur mages backed down and started watching Epsilon like a magic show. They had heard that he was strong and capable of killing many beings by himself but not many of them believed this. Werfurs harbored inherent dislike towards humans. They were also slightly arrogant when it came to magic use and magic battle.
Today, however, was the day to change their worldviews. Their eyes could see but their brains could not comprehend the kind of human their leader signed the Golden Document with.
They now had a better understanding of why Rabial and their Leader Warin always advised them to not put themselves on the bad side of this human. If he wanted to, even the Anderium Base was no problem for him to challenge. He could just all break their legs and hunt them as he liked.
At first, they did not like a human sign a golden document with their race. But now they were thankful that this human was on their side, and not on the side of other humans or demons.
